South Of Midnight Chapter 4 Collectibles
South of Midnight Chapter 4: Wicked Temper has 4 collectibles: 3 Readables and 1 Storybook. The Magic Object and Storybook are automatically collected as you progress through the story, but you’ll need to locate the 3 Readables yourself. Below is a walkthrough to help you find them.

1. Reach The Church in South of Midnight
At the start of “Wicked Temper”, follow the path until Hazel spots the church. From there, drop down onto the shore and perform a Weave to cross. Head left first to find a “Floof.” Start by Weaving the float to the right (as shown in the screenshot), then cross using double jumps and glide. Once you’re on the first float, Weave the second float to the left (also shown in the screenshot). Jump onto the second float, then climb the rocky wall by looking for the white ledges. This will lead you to the “Floof.”
Head back to the first float and continue along the Strand. You’ll find your first grapple point here. Once you’re up, you’ll need to perform a double grapple to avoid Hazel falling into the water. Just keep pressing the grapple button.
After using the double-grapple, head left, away from where the Strand is pointing. Grapple across, then jump and glide to the other side. You’ll find a “Floof” waiting there.
Head back to where you started and follow the Strand. When the path splits and one goes to the left, ignore it and stay on the Strand. Here, you’ll find another “Floof” to collect. You’ll notice there are four grapples: one at the starting point, two further ahead in the air, and the third across the area where you’ll spot the “Floof.” To reach it, you’ll need to perform a triple grapple.
Return to where you started with the same grapples. After you land, you will notice some climbable rocks opposite you. Climb up and destroy the branches blocking the cave entrance with Strand Push. Now you can enter and pick up a “Floof”.
Head back to the main path and follow the Strand. Hazel notices a floating island and realizes it’s the gator. Keep going by grappling across the water to reach the first combat area in Chapter 4.
After destroying the Stigma, there is only one path ahead. But Hazel has to jump and glide to continue.
The Strand directs Hazel to go straight ahead, but there’s a path to the left. Take the left path first. You’ll find a blocked route—use Strand Push on the overgrowth to access a house with a “Floof” inside. Don’t forget to check the cooking pot for more story details.
2/3 Lay Off Buddy – Readables Collectible in South of Midnight
Check the bed to find the second Readables collectible in Chapter 4 of South of Midnight.
There’s a “Floof” behind the house. Go around the house and use the grapple to reach it.
1/3 Grocery List – Readables Collectible
There’s a Readables Collectible on top of a barrel.
Return to the main path to stay on the Strand. Be careful of the exploding mushrooms at the bottom of the path. Once past them, use the grapple to move forward and land on a small island. Interact with the stones here and throw them at the mushrooms on the next platform to clear the way. Now you can cross safely. Also, you’ll notice a cow trapped on a nearby roof.
Climb up the rock wall ahead, and you will find another Memory Object from the Mobile Home. Interact with it to continue.
2. Find a Way Inside the Church
At the church, start by looking outside. Between two cars, there’s a metal sheet you can move to collect “Floof”.
There’s another metal sheet in the small cemetery behind the two cars.
3/3 Burrower’s – Lord’s Day – Readables Collectible
There’s a hollow tree nearby. Check it to find a Readable.
A third metal sheet lies between the graves.
Before finding a way into the church, look for these grapples.
This will lead to a “Floof” near gravestones and coffins. You’ll also notice activity happening beneath the church.
Cross over toward the cave below the church from the previous “Floof”. Inside is the Health Filament.
To get into the church, start by focusing on the cart. Use Weave on the cart, then use Strand Push twice to quickly move it to the back of the church. Once the cart is in position, climb onto it before it resets to enter the church.
3. Ring the Bell
Inside the church, use Strand Push to destroy the beams blocking the climbing bars. After that, climb the tower and ring the bell to trigger the cutscene that ends Chapter 4.
Chapter 4, “Wicked Temper,” ties together suspenseful exploration, rewarding gameplay, and story revelations as you assist Hazel in uncovering the secrets within the church.
