South of Midnight Chapter 2 has 7 collectibles: 2 Magic Objects, 4 Readables, and 1 Storybook. The Magic Object and Storybook are automatically collected as you progress through the story, but you’ll need to locate the 4 Readables yourself. Below is a walkthrough to help you find them.

4/4 – Stigma and Sorrow

Start by following the path down to the river. At the dead end, activate the “Strands” to guide you. Climb the rock ahead to continue, passing through a hollow log on the left, which will stand out in the dense environment. This is where South of Midnight Chapter 2 Collectibles, such as important Readables and Floof, begin to appear, so keep a close eye.

Hazel’s path will lead her to a blocked wooden footbridge. Drop down to a lower path that’s clear of obstacles and press forward to continue.

From the wooden footbridge, jump down and enter a dense forest. Navigate through thorns and look out for spots marked with white paint, which indicate crossing points.

Soon, Hazel will encounter an infested area teeming with enemies. Defeat them and interact with the “Stigma” to heal this part of the land, showcasing the narrative depth of “Other Voices, Other Looms.”

Follow the river path, using the Strand to guide you to a fairy tale-like old well. Climb down into the well and explore the tunnels below to find the spinning wheel.

Magic Object: Distaff – Collectible

This marks another pivotal moment for South of Midnight Chapter 2 Collectibles, with the Distaff Magic Object waiting to be claimed.

After a gripping cutscene at the spinning wheel, follow the ghostly figures toward the river. Use the path they take, climbing rocks and interacting with the “Stigma” at the top. Upgrading Hazel’s abilities, like enhancing her connection to “Floof,” is essential during this stage of South of Midnight Chapter 2.

1/4 The Weaver’s Call – Readables Collectibles

Inside the first house to the left, you’ll come across the first of four Readables Collectibles titled “The Weaver’s Call.” Hidden gems like this deepen the mystique of Other Voices, Other Looms and reveal more about the game’s lore.

Hazel will spot the ghosts darting into a house within the settlement. The front door is blocked, forcing her to find another way in. Climb the nearby hill and use an overhanging log to reach the roof.

Magic Object: Spindle – Collectible – South of Midnight

Inside, another Magic Object awaits in the form of a spindle, a key Collectible in South of Midnight Chapter 2. With the spindle, Hazel unlocks the ability to reimagine objects from the past. Her new skills open up more gameplay opportunities, making “Other Voices, Other Looms” even more immersive.

With the newly acquired spindle, Hazel gains the ability to bring objects from the past into the present, a pivotal moment in South of Midnight Chapter 2. Make your way out of the house, using her newfound power to manifest and interact with items crucial to advancing through the environment. Start by summoning the table and then use it to cross previously impassable areas. This ability will also help you reconstruct the broken bridge nearby, enabling Hazel to continue her pursuit of the ghost.

Don’t follow the ghosts just yet. There is a “Floof” hidden behind the house that you can now pick up with the Spindle ability.

Moving past the bridge, you’ll encounter another infested zone overrun by thorns and a deadly Haint. Prepare for a heated battle, using your arsenal of Strand abilities to clear the area safely. Interact with the “Stigma” to heal the land, a recurring element in the chapter’s theme of renewal within Other Voices, Other Looms.

Once you’ve subdued the Haint, follow the ghostly trail to a new area dense with tall grass. While navigating the field, use Hazel’s Strand skills to flip metal sheets for “Floof” as a reward, further crafting a sense of discovery quintessential to the charm of “Other Voices, Other Looms.”

Pushing the first metal sheet with “Strand Push” will earn you the “Finder’s Keepers” Trophy. You’ll find another one to the right of the field. They all give you Floofs.

Locate a cart near the field and use Strand Push to reposition it. The cart acts as a stepping point for Hazel to climb onto a small house and drop down near a large round building with a conical roof.

Break through the gate here using Strand Push and explore the interior to find another elusive Floof collectible hiding in plain sight.

From this point, the pathway ascends uphill, leading to a climactic battle with another Haint. Defeat the enemy and destroy the thorny Stigma, clearing a path into the barn just ahead.

Inside the barn, watch for a short scene showing the ghost manipulating a crate. Use the Strand Pull and Strand Push abilities to position the crate correctly beneath a climbable spot on the right-hand side.

2/4 Spirits, Speak to Me! – Readables Collectibles

Ascend to the upper window, but pause before going through it. On a nearby barrel, Hazel will discover the second of four Readables Collectibles titled “Spirits, Speak to Me!” Adding this artifact to your collection enriches the broader story of South of Midnight Chapter 2 and sheds more light on the intriguing mysteries of “Other Voices, Other Looms.”

3/4 Please Speak to Me.. – Readables Collectibles

After leaving the barn through the window, Hazel will face an encounter with the Haint. Once defeated, proceed toward the mine entrance where ghostly apparitions stand above. Before entering, use Hazel’s Strand Push ability to clear the overgrowth on the left. This leads to a secret nook containing a Floof and the third of four Readables Collectibles titled “Please Speak to Me..”

Once you’ve added the Readables Collectible “Please Speak to Me…” to your collection, head back toward the mine entrance. Use Hazel’s Strand Push ability to clear the barricade blocking the entrance. Use Hazel’s Strand Pull to reposition the cart, aligning it with a damaged bridge overhead. Now, use it to cross to the other side. This section showcases the clever application of Hazel’s newfound abilities, a central gameplay theme in South of Midnight Chapter 2.

4/4 Stigma and Sorrow – Readables Collectibles

Slide down the slope of a cave, following the narrow path, and look for a symbol painted on the cave wall. This symbol leads you to the fourth and last of the Readables Collectibles titled “Stigma and Sorrow.” Take a moment to examine it, as it adds important narrative depth to Other Voices, Other Looms. This collectible is key to understanding more of the overarching story as Hazel pieces together the threads of the past with her new abilities.

To advance through the intricate landscapes of South of Midnight Chapter 2, use the Strand Push ability to clear the roots blocking Hazel’s way. Once the path is open, follow the tunnel further into the world of Other Voices, Other Looms. At the tunnel’s end, you’ll encounter a gap that requires Hazel to utilize her “Weave” ability to create a bridge. Crossing it unveils a massive, sprawling cave.

Pay close attention to the white markings on the walls and rocks as they guide Hazel through the cavern’s twisting passages. Along the way, you’ll need to use the “Weave” ability several times to craft paths where none previously existed. Don’t miss the chance to collect the glowing Floof in this area. These essential Collectibles not only enrich your gameplay but play an integral role in enhancing Hazel’s abilities, making them invaluable during your exploration of South of Midnight Chapter 2.

Follow the tutorial to destroy the high roots blocking Hazel’s escape. Use a stone to target the roots, hurling it to bring them down. Once the obstruction is cleared, Hazel can ascend and climb out of the cave.
