Spider-Man 2 Chinatown Spider-Bots and 100% Completion Guide

Chinatown Activities Map

The in-game map with all 12 Chinatown activities marked. Chinatown sits in the south of Manhattan, next to the Financial District and the bridge to Williamsburg. Click the map to open it in full size.

All Chinatown activities are introduced during the main story. Some of them can be started from the FNSM App (swipe on your controller or open it from the in-game menu). They reward you with Tech Parts, Rare Tech Parts and City Tokens, and a full district completion adds extra Hero Tokens. Finishing every activity across New York unlocks new suits.

All 3 Chinatown Spider-Bot Locations

There are 3 Spider-Bots in Chinatown, numbered as on the map below: Mister Negative high in the air near the Williamsburg Bridge, Spider-Armor MK II on a mural in the west and Spider-Woman on a white wall in the center. They never show on the big map, but send out a pulse and sound cue when you get close.

1. Mister Negative Spider-Bot

Location: High in the air near the Williamsburg Bridge

The Mister Negative Spider-Bot floats in mid-air near the Williamsburg Bridge. Perch on the highest water tank you can find nearby, launch yourself into the air with R2 + X, then open your wingsuit and glide to the Spider-Bot.

2. Spider-Armor MK II Spider-Bot

Location: Colorful mural on a building wall in the west of Chinatown

Look for a big, colorful graffiti mural on a building wall in the west of Chinatown. The Spider-Armor MK II Spider-Bot crawls right on the mural.

3. Spider-Woman Spider-Bot

Location: White building wall in the center of Chinatown

Head to the center of Chinatown. The Spider-Woman Spider-Bot crawls on a white building wall.

Chinatown Marko’s Memories

There are 2 Marko’s Memories in Chinatown. Each one is a memory crystal you interact with to unlock a short memory.

A Familiar Feeling – Marko’s Memory

Location: Rooftop in the center north of Chinatown

The crystal sits on top of a building in the center north of Chinatown. Defeat the Sandmen guarding it, then interact with the crystal.

The Beast Inside Me – Marko’s Memory

Location: Alley in the southwest of Chinatown, at the Financial District border

The second crystal is in the southwest of Chinatown, right at the border to the Financial District. It sits on the ground floor in an alley.

Chinatown Photo Ops

There are 2 Photo Ops in Chinatown. Swipe up on your controller to open photo mode and move the camera until “Subject in Focus” appears, then take the picture.

Checkmate Photo Op

Location: Chess players in the northwest of Chinatown

Two people are playing chess in the northwest of Chinatown: a newcomer and a local chess champion. Take a picture of the game.

The Little Taiyaki Cart Photo Op

Location: Food cart by the water in the northeast of Chinatown

In the northeast of Chinatown, a food cart stands near the water. Take a picture of it.

The Flame – Everything Burns

Location: Rooftop door with a red firehand symbol in Chinatown

Everything Burns is the second of four missions in The Flame side story. The storyline starts in the Financial District and continues here, where Wraith has tracked the cult to a hideout in Chinatown. Enter the building through the rooftop door marked with a red firehand symbol.

Take Down the Cultists

Inside, team up with Wraith to take down the cultists. There is a photo on the table in the same room you can interact with. Crawl into the vent in that room to reach the next area, defeat another group of cultists and head to the locked door.

How to Open the Locked Door

Scan the area to find the clues: the large whiteboard near the locked door, the graffiti “The Unworthy Hide Everywhere” and a wall with four flames and four names. Then check the unconscious cultists one by one for the matching tattoo that opens the door.

Go through the door, defeat the next cultists and keep their captives safe.

Free the Prisoners

Climb through the opening above the “Intensive Care Unit” door into the next room and fight more cultists. Scan again to spot the cell mechanism, then follow the cell wiring to a machine on the stage. Interact with it to free the prisoners.

Escape Through the Quarantine Wing

After the cutscene and the next fight, force open the Quarantine Wing doors with L2 + R2 and keep fighting. The prisoners get stuck at a blocked exit, so climb above the Reception/Lobby elevator doors and kick open another door to fight the cultists in the cafeteria. Once they are down, the way is clear and the prisoners escape.

EMF Experiment – Little Tokyo: Plant Science

Location: Rooftop garden in the north of Chinatown

Little Tokyo: Plant Science is the Chinatown EMF Experiment. It is on the rooftops in the north of Chinatown. Interact with the experiment station to start it and get the briefing from Dr. Foster.

Collect the Plant Samples

Peter has to gather 3 plant samples nearby for the gene splicer. Scan with R3 to highlight the plant roots, which lead you to the plants: oranges, berries and a weed-like plant.

Gene Splicer Solution

With all 3 samples, go back to the Gene Splicer at the experiment station. Each card you place in the four open slots has lines on its sides, from one to four. The lines of neighboring cards need to match up. Below the “Plant Attributes” title, the puzzle also asks for at least two plant cards and one H card. Place the cards like this:

Water the Plants

Once the attributes are combined, the new seed needs water. Yank the valve on the highlighted water tank with L1 + R1. The old pipes start to leak, so plug each leak with a web (R1). Scan with R3 to highlight the leaking pipes, and yank away anything that blocks access to a pipe. The experiment is a success once all the leaks are plugged and the plants are watered.

Fight On Time Mysterium

Location: Northwestern corner of Chinatown

The Chinatown Mysterium is called Fight On Time. Your goal is to use 6 Finishers on enemies.
Gold: under 3:30
Silver: under 5:00
Bronze: over 5:00

Chinatown Unidentified Target

Location: Tall building in the center north of Chinatown

Look for two metal birds circling a tall building in the center north of Chinatown. Get to the roof and interact with the transmitter.

Then follow the bird through the wind canal before it escapes. In the slipstream, you only need to steer left and right to stay behind it.

Chinatown Symbiote Nest

Location: Under a police car in the southeast of Chinatown

The Chinatown Symbiote Nest is in the southeast of the district. The heart is hidden under a police car. Move the car with L1 + R1, then place the sonic bomb and defend it until the timer runs out.
