The Sinkholes Access Point

Access Point to THE SINKHOLES is in the East of THE PLAINS. There is a zipline you can take down to the Sinkholes.

The Sinkholes Nornir Chest 1

To reach the Sinkhole, you have to use a zip line from the Plains. This Nornir Chest is in a small cave below this zip line. Just walk the path below the zip line and you will get to it.

There are three cauldrons to be found. They need to be lit up by fire.

“C” Rune

The “C” Rune is at the entrance/exit of the cave. Turn around as if you would leave, with the Nornir Chest to your left and you will see it above a little pond. You can set the cauldron on fire from below, without the arrows.

“R” Rune

The Rune up on the wall above the entrance/exit to the Nornir Chest Cave. Use the nearby blue grapple up anchor to get up there and set it on fire with 3 well-placed pink arrows.

“n” Rune

The “n” Rune is at the little lookout at the back of the cave. You have to build a pink chain with your arrows to set this cauldron on fire.

On the way to the THE BURNING SKIES DRAGON HUNT, you will find another Nornir Chest in the open.

There are three statues that you have to find and destroy AT THE SAME TIME. Throw the spear at them and wait until you have all three before you detonate.

“E” Rune

The “E” Rune is on top of the intact pillar close to the Nornir Chest.

“B” Rune

The B Rune is left of the Nornir Chest sitting on the big, broken pillar of the wall.

“T” Rune

The “T” Rune is next to the hole you climbed out of to get here.

The Sinkholes Lore

Lore Marker: Everything Ends

From the “The Plains” zipline, go through a purple poison cave down to the river. There is a building with an entrance right at the rocky wall. The Lore Marker is in front of this entrance.

Kvasir’s Poems: Eastern Spectre

Go to the area, where the dragon attacks you in the south of the map and you have to detonate the two pillars for the THE BURNING SKIES DRAGON HUNT. Walk along the river to the right, where you can pull open the river gate.

Jump across at the other side and you will see ruins and some plant growth to the right. Burn it with a pink arrow and your blades.

Now you can freeze the poison plant and pass through where the plants were. You can find the spirit for the CASUALTIES OF WAR Collectible at the other side.

Continue on by climbing up the steps and to a higher area. You can cross the gap ahead by burning the plants high up at the other side. Use pink arrows and your blade to do so. Now you can grapple across to the other side.

Follow the path and let yourself drop down into a pit. There is a crawlspace down there that will lead you to the big pit that you will see from the NORNIR CHEST 1 Cave Balcony. You can even see a cauldron burning in the top left of the second screenshot. You now have to fight and defeat a Crag Maw.

After the fight, look for a blocked way into a ruined gate. You can burn some plants to the right of the gate.

Squeeze through the gap and go up the stairs. At the top is a dead soldier with the Artefact on his feet.

The Sinkholes Nine Realms of Bloom

Starblush

Use the Celestial Altar near the Mystic Gateway: The Sinkholes. Set it to night time. Walk down the stairs and keep left. You will soon see the Quest Symbol and a shining flower on the floor.

The Sinkholes Odin’s Raven

You can shoot the raven from the same platform where you defeat the Ash Tyrant Dragon in THE BURNING SKIES DRAGON HUNT.

The Sinkholes Berserker Gravestone

After you destroyed the two pillars where the dragon was sitting on in THE BURNING SKIES DRAGON HUNT, you can open one of the river gates by pulling the chain. Go back to the boat at the Mystic Gateway Sinkholes Entrance and dock at the other side of the river. Next to a Celestial Altar and the Mystic Gateway: The Sinkholes, there is also this Berserker Gravestone.

The Sinkholes Dragon Hunts

1 – The Burning Skies

From the Mystic Gateway: Sinkholes Entrance, grapple up into the cave above.

At the end of the cave is a yellow detonation spot for your spear. Throw it and detonate the tip to open the passage. There will a dragon be waiting at the other side.

When you get out to where the dragon is, it will attack and you will have to destroy the two pillars it is sitting on. The pillars have detonation points for the spear. Here’s where they are:

You can now open one of two river gateways. Then return to the boat at the Mystic Gateway: Sinkholes Entrance and dock at the other side of the river. There is a Celestial Altar, the Mystic Gateway: The Sinkholes and a Berserker Gravestone. From here you can finally also open the second river gate. It’s the way towards the dragon.

Get back to the boat and follow the river to the other side of a tunnel. Here you can beach the boat. The dragon will follow you here and attack. There is a nearby gate that you can open. That’s the path to the dragon.

You will enter a dark corridor and you can see the dragon far ahead. On top of all, the dragon is blowing fire now and then. Hide in the alcoves at the side of the corridor when it blows fire. You can open up a new path. Look for the three yellow detonation points for your spear to the right. Throw your spear at them and let them detonate all together it only works when they’re all red.

Advance through this new opening, while you’re being attacked by others. In a dark dead end corridor, you can climb up to the right.

As soon as you climb up, the dragon will blow fire. Hide behind the wall to the left and look for another detonation point ahead. Blow it up to get some peace from the dragon. You can also find the piece for the Casualties of War Quest.

Look for a climbing spot and use it to get out of here to the other side – an area with a Nornir Chest.

Go past the chest and climb up the big, broken pillar by the wall, where Rune “B” is for the Nornir Chest. You can now fight the Ash Tyrant Dragon. When the Dragon is sitting on the pillar, you have to destroy the pillar by throwing your spear at the detonation point and detonate it.

2 – Quaking Hollow

You will get this quest when arriving at The Sinkholes. Kratos will feel tremors on his travels.

Go to the area, where the dragon attacks you in the south of the map and you have to detonate the two pillars for the THE BURNING SKIES DRAGON HUNT. Walk along the river to the right, where you can pull open the river gate.

Jump across at the other side and you will see ruins and some plant growth to the right. Burn it with a pink arrow and your blades.

You can pick up the other piece of the hourglass while doing the THE BURNING SKIES DRAGON HUNT. It is in the last part, before you reach the fire blowing dragon in the dark corridor.

The Sinkholes Seasonal Stags

From the “The Plains” zipline, go through a purple poison cave down to the river. You can swing across it to get to the Mystic Gateway: Sinkholes Entrance. The Stag is standing next to it.
