Nornir Chest Location

The Nornir Chest is located underneath the bridge with the fire crane used to burn brambles in an earlier part of the game. To unlock the chest, you must light three rune torches:

“C” Rune Torch

This torch sits behind the chest on an old tree. Swing the fire bucket with the crane to bring it close, then move it left to ignite the torch.

“R” Rune Torch

The “R” Rune is across the gap from the chest. Use the crane to swing the fire bucket and light this torch.

“n” Rune Torch

The final rune torch is closest to the chest. Simply use your Blades of Chaos to light it directly.

Once all torches are lit, the Nornir Chest unlocks so you can claim its rewards.

Legendary Chest Locations

The Abandoned Village houses multiple Legendary Chests, each containing valuable items that can power up your character. These chests are hidden across the area and often require solving puzzles or navigating obstacles to access. Here’s how to locate each one:

1. Above the House near Draugr Hole

Defeat the Draugr at the Draugr Hole in the western section of the village. Go behind it to locate a crawl space. Follow this path to a house that contains a Legendary Chest inside.

2. Top Left of the Arena Building

Go through the large building known as the Arena in the Abandoned Village. Exit through the back and walk along the wall on the left side. Spot a hanging chain that takes you to a pool of purple poison where the chest lies. Freeze the nearby toxic plant with your axe before opening the chest. To extend the effect, use a pink Sigil Arrow before freezing.

3. The Western Pit near the Crane

This chest is in the westernmost part of the village, near the Western Barri Woods. Swing across the gap to the pit using the crane. If the crane is blocked by a pillar, drop to the pit’s bottom and enter the cave at the pillar’s base. Knock down the pillar by grappling it. Then, reposition the crane to swing across and access the chest.

Lore Locations

Lore collectibles provide a peek into the rich backstory and mythology of God of War Ragnarok. The two Lore Items in the Abandoned Village are relatively easy to find, but you’ll need to keep an eye out for subtle clues. Here’s how to locate them:

1. “Chores” Lore Scroll

Swing across the water on the western side of the village using the crane adjusted to the left position. After landing, check behind a stack of four crates on the right to find this scroll.

2. “Prayer to Freya” Rune

This rune marker is located on the exterior wall of the Arena building. Simply walk around its perimeter to discover and read this Lore Item.

Odin’s Raven – The Abandoned Village Raven

The Abandoned Village Raven, one of Odin’s Ravens, can only be reached during the Creatures of Prophecy main quest. This mission involves chasing a thief through the village, which opens more exploration paths.

During this quest, you’ll set up a swing pole with the Draupnir Spear. Before crossing the gap, look to the left, where you’ll see the raven perched inside a hollow tree trunk. Take aim with your spear to eliminate it. Odin’s Ravens are integral for unlocking special rewards in God of War Ragnarok, so don’t miss this one!

Draugr Hole Location

To find the Draugr Hole, make your way across the village by climbing the wall and passing through the cave. Swing into the house using the nearby crane and rotate the crane’s shields to open an exit on the left balcony. From there, follow the bridge to the second cave entrance.

Inside the cave, you’ll face The Hateful, one of the game’s challenging mini-bosses. Prepare for a tough battle by equipping elemental attacks and a defensive loadout. Defeating this enemy completes the Draugr Hole challenge.
