Anvils: Crimson Fort – Overview Map
There are 9 Forger’s Anvils at the Crimson Fort in Blades of Fire numbered in the order of appearance.
1 – Cellars
The Cellars is the first Anvil accessible upon reaching the Crimson Fort. Your journey begins at the Crimson Fort Overlook, located in the eastern part of Besacarr Hamlet.
To proceed, you’ll need to repair the wooden bridge before crossing. This requires a Time Rune, which you can obtain by speaking with Glinda in the Kar-Lethel Swamp. Once you have the rune, make your way to the Crimson Fort. Head upstairs to the storage area, where you’ll find a ladder leading to the Cellar’s Anvil.
2 – Cellar’s Rooftop
At the Cellars anvil, you have to find the Hooded Child to advance. The easiest path is visible from the top of the anvil ladder. Aran can break through a cellar wall to find the Hooded Child in its hideout.
Aran’s task is simple: follow the Hooded Child to the Cellar’s Rooftop Anvil. The route is straightforward. Starting at the Cellars anvil, proceed north, ascend the winding staircase, and pass through a gap in the fort’s wall – accessible only with the Hooded Child’s guidance.
3 – Library Tower
From the Cellar’s Rooftop Forger’s Anvil, follow the child to the next tower of the Crimson Fort. It leads through another gap in the wall to a winding staircase. Follow it upstairs to a round dining hall. The Hooded Child will disappear to the left, where you can find another set of stairs leading further up to the tower. On the next level, head right and find a rope hanging down to the left, where you and the Hooded Child can climb higher up the tower.
Climb the rope and the following ladders all the way to the top until you reach the Library Tower Anvil. In the story, there will be a cutscene
4 – Great Tower’s Rooftop
The next destination is the Rooftop Forger’s Anvil atop the Great Tower. To access it, begin in the library. There, the Hooded Child will guide you to an open window on the second floor, leading the way to your goal. If you have lost the Hooded Child here, you can find it on the top floor of the Great Tower.
Climb out through the window and make your way to the roof of the Great Tower. To the east, you’ll find an opening in the roof where you can drop down inside. From there, another opening leads you to the Rooftop Forger’s Anvil of the Great Tower.
5 – Hollow Hall Entrance
The Hollow Hall Entrance Anvil is located at the base of the Great Tower. To reach it, start at the Rooftop Anvil and head downstairs. Squeeze through a narrow gap to access the top floor of the tower. Keep in mind that the staircase is locked on each level and can only be unlocked using a lever found at the bottom of the stairs. To descend from the top floor to the second, look for an opening in the exterior wall of the only accessible room.
Climb down and enter the second floor through a gap in the wall. Be sure to pull the lever located at the base of the staircase leading to the top floor – this will open the gates and give you easier access to move around. On the second floor, find an open window that allows you to exit and cross a connecting bridge to reach the first floor.
On the first floor, don’t forget to open the staircase gates to the second floor, for future, easier access. Then, look for a gap in the wall at this location to reach the Hollow Hall Entrance Anvil.
8 – Throne Room
The Throne Room Anvil is essential to escaping the Crimson Fort. To reach it, first cross the hall to the northeast, then head west to reach the northern winding staircase going down. Here you will find a rope to climb.
This rope leads directly to the Throne Room Roof. Nearby, you’ll find the hole to the anvil, located beside the head of a paladin’s statue. This statue once bore one of the names of the Paladin of the Aurora. Since I’ve already claimed the tear associated with it, the statue’s head has vanished. However, the entrance to the Throne Room Anvil remains accessible.
9 – Doyen Graves Vantage
To proceed from the Throne Room Anvil, drop down into the Throne Room. If the Hooded Child is not accompanying you, you can exit the Crimson Fort without any obstacles. However, if the Hooded Child is with you, you must first defeat Cavimo Rex to unlock the gate. The Doyen Graves Vantage Anvil can be found at the northernmost edge of the Ancient Garden, right at the border of the Doyen Graves region.
Mastering the locations of the Forger’s Anvils in the Crimson Fort is key to navigating Blades of Fire effectively. With this guide at your side, you’ll have all the details you need to keep your gameplay smooth and enjoyable. Use it to enhance your experience and make the most out of your time in the Crimson Fort. Happy adventuring!
