Starfield Sabotage Walkthrough – Ryujin Stealth and Rewards

Tags:

Sabotage is the Ryujin Industries mission that follows The Key Ingredient, and it is the one that turns you into a corporate spy. Veena fits you with the Internal Neuroamp, Masako hands you the Operative Suit and a fake ID, and you get two ways into Infinity LTD headquarters in New Atlantis. Your three targets inside are Lucas Drexler’s computer, Faye’s computer and the Neuroamp Prototype. Below is the full roof and maintenance route, screenshot by screenshot, with the Option B alternative and the guards you can get past without firing a shot.

Faction: Ryujin Industries
Previous Mission: The Key Ingredient
Next Mission: Executive Level
Starts: automatically once The Key Ingredient ends
Locations: Ryujin Tower (Neon, Volii Alpha), Infinity LTD Corporate Headquarters and the SSNN field office (New Atlantis, Jemison)
Useful Skills: Stealth, Security, Persuasion, Theft

Your three objectives inside Infinity LTD are:
1 – Run the Overseer Program on Lucas Drexler’s computer on the Executive floor
2 – Run the Overseer Program on Faye’s computer on the Research and Development floor
3 – Take the Internal Neuroamp Prototype from the R and D lab

Credits: roughly 8,000 to 12,000, scaling with your level
XP: around 350
Items: two or three Med Packs, plus the Operative Suit and Operative Helmet you keep from the briefing
Skill: the Internal Neuroamp permanently unlocks Manipulation, a rank 4 Social skill you keep for the rest of the game

The rewards do not change based on which entrance you pick or how many people you knock out. Masako will comment on a body count, but she pays the same either way.

This is the longest and hardest mission in the Ryujin questline, so a few minutes of prep saves a lot of reloading:

Stealth at rank 2 or higher makes the vent route far more forgiving.
Security at rank 2 lets you open the Expert locks on the Power Station Controls and the prototype holding chamber
Theft or Persuasion helps if you take the front door route instead
Unequip your spacesuit, helmet and boost pack before you go in, or you will be spotted constantly
Wear the Operative Suit that Masako gives you, it makes you noticeably harder to detect
Leave your companion behind unless they have stealth skills, they will walk you into guards
Manipulation is temporary and fails around one time in ten, so quicksave before every use

After you hand over the missing rothicite shipment at the end of The Key Ingredient, Masako sends you back to the Executive Offices to talk to Dalton. If your questline branched into Managing Assets instead, Sabotage starts once that mission wraps up.

Mission Text:
“I need to meet Dalton to get the latest update on the mole. I can find him in his office on the Executive Floor.”

Head back to the Ryujin Tower elevator, go up to the Executive Offices and talk to Dalton. He confirms that Ularu is the mole and Imogene is innocent, then lays out the plan to expose her. If you already killed Ularu back in Guilty Parties, this conversation is shorter and the board simply gets told she was the mole.

Mission Text:
“Dalton and Masako want me to attend the meeting where they discuss the mole and their plans for Infinity LTD. I should take a seat and listen.”

The meeting room is on the same floor, next door to Dalton’s office. Go in, take the marked seat and listen. This is where you name Imogene as the spy to lower Ularu’s guard, so do not skip the dialogue.

Mission Text:
“Veena completed the Internal Neuroamp. I should meet her in the Neuroamp Division on the Research and Development floor.”

Take the elevator back down to Research and Development and talk to Veena in the Neuroamp Division.

Mission Text:
“Veena is ready to perform the operation to implant the Internal Neuroamp in my head. I need to lay down on the neurosurgery table when I’m ready.”

Interact with the operating table in the same room. There is no downside and no way to skip it, the Neuroamp is what the rest of the mission is built around. Talk to Veena once you wake up.

Mission Text:
“Veena wants me to test the Internal Neuroamp on DeMarcus. I need to head up to the Observation Deck to try to use it.”

Exit the room and follow the marker upstairs for the Neuroamp tutorial.

› camzillasmom.com

DeMarcus is locked in the room below you. You need to manipulate him into opening the door himself.

Open your scanner, point it at DeMarcus and select him. On Xbox that is the A button, on PC it is your interact key. Manipulation then appears on the right side of the screen. Once the puppet symbol shows above his head, point at the highlighted keycard on the bench and he walks over and picks it up.

You have to manipulate him again after every single action. Manipulate him a second time, then interact with the locked door, and he opens it with the keycard. If you wait too long between commands the effect wears off and you start over.

Mission Text:
“I successfully tested the Internal Neuroamp. I should head back down and see what they have to say.”

Meet Veena and DeMarcus downstairs and wait for their conversation to finish. Talk to Veena afterwards.

Mission Text:
“Veena reminded me that Masako wants to speak to me about the Infinity LTD assignment. I can find her in her office on the Executive Offices floor.”

Take the elevator up to the Executive Offices floor and talk to Masako. She wants you to infiltrate Infinity LTD and gives you two ways in:

Option A: go in through maintenance and the roof, the stealth route
Option B: use a fake identity and walk in through the front door for an arranged meeting

Both options finish the mission and pay the same rewards. Option A is covered in full below, and Option B is covered under step 10.

What You Get From Masako

Masako hands over your entire kit for the mission:

Operative Suit and Operative Helmet, a Ryujin stealth outfit that makes you significantly harder for guards to spot. You keep it after the mission, and it stays one of the better early stealth sets in the game.

A fake Infinity LTD ID card, which is what Option B runs on.

A Maintenance Passcode for the heating system.

The Overseer Program on a slate, the software you run on both target computers.

Put the Operative Suit on before you leave Neon and take off your spacesuit, helmet and boost pack. Wearing your normal gear over the top cancels most of the benefit.

Mission Text:
“I need to bring the Overseer program to Dalton in his office. He believes it holds the evidence needed to prove Ularu is the mole.”

Head back up to Dalton’s office and talk to him. Wait for his conclusion and take the new slate he gives you.

“I need to travel to New Atlantis to get my assignment underway.”

Mission Text:
“I need to get inside the Infinity LTD building. I can either use my assigned identity to gain access at the entrance or find the roof access door.”

Take the NAT to the Commercial District. From there you pick your route.

Option A – Roof and Maintenance Access (the stealth route)

Run past the Infinity LTD building, past the Outland shop, to Galbank. Behind Galbank there is an access door.

Go in and turn left in the corridor to go up. At the top of the staircase you step out onto the roof and enter again through another door. That is the access door to Infinity Limited HQ, and your Maintenance Access Keycard unlocks it.

This is a stealth mission, so leave your companion behind if they cannot sneak.

Option B – Fake Identity Through the Front Door

If you would rather talk your way in, walk up to the main entrance and use the ID card Masako gave you. Dezi at the front desk sends you up to Marketing to meet Aelys Ortiz. Once that meeting ends he leaves, and you are free to move around the building.

From there you use the same Neuroamp tricks, just from the inside out. Manipulate staff into opening doors and handing over access rather than crawling through vents. You still need to reach the same three targets. Note that Option B does not give you an easy path to the heating system first, so you deal with a much busier building.

A Third Option Nobody Tells You About

You can also just shoot your way through. It is not what Masako asks for and she will be unhappy about the body count, but the mission still completes, the rewards are unchanged, and you get to loot the building freely. If the stealth AI is driving you up the wall, this is a legitimate way to finish the questline.

Mission Text:
“I need to run the Overseer program on Lucas and Faye’s computers and find the Internal Neuroamp Prototype. I received a maintenance passcode that I can use to sabotage the heating system. This may help clear most of the people out of the building.

Sabotaging the heating system in Starfield’s Infinity LTD is optional, but it clears the civilian staff out of the building and leaves only guards behind. Do it. It makes everything after this far easier.

From the vent you entered, head straight ahead through another vent door. You come out at a large fan shaft with two fans, a guard and a switch.

Open your scanner, select the guard, choose Manipulation, then select the highlighted fan switch. He walks over and shuts the fan off for you.

Now jump down the fan shaft. There is a passage at the bottom that leads to the heating system. Interact with the computer, select Critical Systems, then Heating, and activate it.

Mission Text:
“I need to run the Overseer program on Lucas and Faye’s computers and find the Internal Neuroamp Prototype. I received a maintenance passcode that I can use to sabotage the heating system. This may help clear most of the people out of the building.

With the heating sabotaged, leave the room the way you came in rather than going up the stairs. You will spot a vent cover you can open.

› camzillasmom.com

At the far end there is an opening in the floor you can drop through.

You land on top of a ceiling lamp in a large hall. Open your scanner and find the Lucas’ Computer marker. You can walk across the lamps to get closer. Even with the heating sabotaged there are still guards patrolling below.

› camzillasmom.com

Stay on the lamps. They run all the way to Lucas Drexler’s office, but there is a guard outside it and no vent into the room.

Open your scanner and manipulate that guard, sending him to the far side of the room. That buys you enough time to drop down and pick the Novice lock on the office door. Close the door behind you. Lucas’ computer is on the desk, and you upload the Overseer Program from there.

Mission Text:
“I need to run the Overseer program on Faye’s computer and find the Internal Neuroamp Prototype. Both should be on the Research and Development floor.”

Leave Lucas’ office and climb back onto the lamps. Cross to the other side, where there is another vent door.

› camzillasmom.com

Drop down, open the vent and climb in. At the other end there is another hole in the floor into a second room.

› camzillasmom.com

There is another vent access panel in that room. Use it.

› camzillasmom.com

The far end of this vent opens into an office with guards in it. Do not drop down. Jump onto the lamps instead so you can walk above them. On the opposite side of the vent you came from there is another vent hatch.

› camzillasmom.com

From inside that vent you can drop to a lower level and open a hatch into a public bathroom.

› camzillasmom.com
› camzillasmom.com

The next part is the tricky bit. You have to get out of the bathroom without the guards seeing you, so either sneak carefully or commit and run. Turn left out of the bathroom, go past the offices into the large cafeteria, then turn left again. There is another vent access there.

› camzillasmom.com

Go down one more level inside the vent and drop onto another ceiling lamp at the far end.

› camzillasmom.com

Walk the lamps towards the mission marker, avoiding the gas leaks and the guards below. There is a closed vent at the end. Open it and go inside.

› camzillasmom.com

You come out in an elevator shaft, standing on top of the elevator car. Research and Development is directly below. Look down and use the beams to climb your way down. At the bottom of the shaft there is a vent panel you can pass through.

› camzillasmom.com

There is a security guard right where you exit the shaft. Jump across to the higher ledge opposite instead of dropping into his path.

Mission Text:
“I need to run the Overseer program on Faye’s computer and find the Internal Neuroamp Prototype. Both should be on the Research and Development floor.”

From that higher ledge you can walk towards the Neuroamp Prototype room ahead. It is protected by a turret, and the turret has a visible red beam. If the beam reaches you, it sees you.

› camzillasmom.com

Look for the computer on the bridge in front of the turret, and the vent right next to it. Above it to the left is a vent shaft you can get into.

› camzillasmom.com

Go back towards the vent you arrived through and jump to the opposite ledge, where there is another vent access. Get into that upper vent, keeping out of the turret beam.

› camzillasmom.com

Inside this vent corridor you can reach the Power Station Controls computer you saw from outside. It is an Expert lock, and it is worth doing if your Security skill can handle it, because it overloads the system.

Follow the vent to the end and drop through the opening in the floor. Faye’s office is just around the corner and up the stairs. Watch the guards, they can still spot you through the window. Run the Overseer Program on Faye’s computer.

Mission Text:
“I need to find the Internal Neuroamp Prototype on the Research and Development floor.”

Before you leave Faye’s office, pick up the R and D Card from her desk, next to the cooler and above the Master-locked safe. You need it for the lab door.

Head downstairs from Faye’s office. There is an orange door, and following it to the end brings you to the lab.

› camzillasmom.com

There is a turret mounted above the red security door in the lab. Watch its sweep pattern. You need to go straight ahead, around the corner and up the stairs.

› camzillasmom.com

On the upper level you will find the turret controls computer. Switch the turrets off, since Masako does not want casualties.

The turret controls terminal on the upper level of the Infinity LTD lab in Starfield › camzillasmom.com

Go back down to the red security door and use the R and D Card on the reader. There are guards inside the lab, so this is where things get loud if you want them to. A non-lethal weapon keeps your body count at zero.

› camzillasmom.com

The Neuroamp Prototype sits inside a holding chamber wired to a nearby computer. Interact with that computer to open the chamber. It is an Expert lock, but you can skip the lockpick entirely by finding the Security Passcode lying on top of one of the brightly lit computer workstations. An alarm goes off if you do not disable it at the computer first.

Take the Internal Neuroamp Prototype and the last objective is done.

Mission Text:
“I’ve completed my assignment within the Infinity LTD building. I need to deliver the slate to David Barron at SSNN in the New Atlantis Commercial District.”

Leave the lab through the vent you came in by. Use the elevator at the end of the corridor, below the vent you entered R and D from. It takes you back up to the roof.

Mission Text:
“I’ve officially completed my assignment. I need to return to Masako at Ryujin Tower in Neon to let her know it’s complete.”

Travel back to Neon, go up to the Executive Level floor at Ryujin Tower and talk to Masako. If you left bodies behind she will let you know she is not impressed, but your rewards are the same either way. Stay for the SSNN broadcast, and depending on the choices you made across the questline either Masako keeps the CEO seat or Ularu takes it.

Talk to Masako once the broadcast ends to collect your credits, XP and Med Packs. She then hands you the final Ryujin mission, Executive Level.

Reporting back to Masako at Ryujin Tower after completing Sabotage in Starfield › camzillasmom.com

If Sabotage finishes but Executive Level never appears, the cause is usually earlier in the questline. Angering Bayu, or failing the persuasion check and going straight to the Seokguh Syndicate hideout after Imogene, adds an extra mission called Managing Assets. When that happens the questline can get stuck: the mission clears from your active list but never registers as fully complete, so the next one does not trigger.

The reliable fix is a save from before that branch. If you do not have one, completing Managing Assets and then waiting several in-game days sometimes shakes it loose. Check your Missions tab under Completed to confirm which state you are in.

Do you have to use stealth in Sabotage?
No. You can fight your way through Infinity LTD from start to finish. Masako comments on the body count, but the mission completes and the rewards are identical.

Which option is better, A or B?
Option A, the roof and maintenance route, gives you more control and access to the heating system sabotage. Option B is faster to start but leaves the building full of staff. Neither changes the outcome or the reward.

Do you have to sabotage the heating system?
No, it is optional. It empties the building of civilian staff and leaves only guards, so it makes the stealth route considerably easier.

What do you get for finishing Sabotage?
Roughly 8,000 to 12,000 credits depending on your level, around 350 XP, a few Med Packs, and the Manipulation skill permanently unlocked through the Internal Neuroamp implant.

Can you keep the Operative Suit?
Yes. The Operative Suit and Operative Helmet stay in your inventory after the mission and make a solid stealth set.

What happens if you get caught in Infinity LTD?
Guards go hostile and the alarm sounds, but the mission does not fail. You can knock them out with a non-lethal weapon and carry on.

Who becomes CEO after Sabotage?
That depends on the choices you made across the whole Ryujin questline. Either Masako stays in charge or Ularu takes over, and the SSNN broadcast at the end of the mission tells you which.
