How to Start Shadows in Neon in Starfield

Shadows in Neon starts automatically once you finish Where Hope Is Built. Ron Hope tells you the stolen HopeTech ship was spotted in the pleasure city of Neon, so that is your next stop.

1 – Go to Neon on Volii Alpha in the Volii System

Mission Text:
“The stolen HopeTech ship that was being used by the First mercenaries on Montara Luna was spotted at the pleasure city of Neon. The thief remains my best lead for finding out what the First is up to, and I’ll need to talk to Ranger Jaylen Pryce to begin the search.”

Neon is on Volii Alpha in the Volii System, southeast of the Valo System where HopeTech is. Travel there and land in Neon.

2 – Talk to Jaylen Pryce at the Freestar Rangers Office

Talk to Jaylen Pryce inside the Freestar Rangers office in Neon. He offers to take you to an informant named Billy Clayton.

3 – Follow Jaylen Pryce to Ebbside

Mission Text:
“My investigation into the activities of the First continues. Ranger Pryce is taking me to meet Billy Clayton, an informant who might have seen the stolen HopeTech ship and its pilot.”

Follow Jaylen Pryce to the Ebbside district, to a restaurant called Frankie’s Grab and Go. Billy Clayton is repairing something right in front of it.

4 – Talk to Billy Clayton at Frankie’s Grab and Go

Talk to Billy Clayton outside Frankie’s Grab and Go. To get the information on the stolen ship and its pilot, you can pay him or persuade him.

5 – Confront Grace Early at Madame Sauvage’s Place

Mission Text:
“The pilot of the stolen HopeTech ship is named Grace Early, and she spends time at Madame Sauvage’s in Neon. I need to find out what she knows about the First.”

Grace Early is inside Madame Sauvage’s, a club that is also in the Ebbside district. Talk to her. You can persuade her to share what she knows, and she hands you an encrypted slate.

6 – Give the Encrypted Slate to Alex Shadid in Akila City

Mission Text:
“During my interrogation of Grace Early, I learned the names of two lieutenants in the First. She also gave me an encrypted slate, which I need to take to Alex Shadid for analysis.”

The two lieutenants Grace Early names are Maya Cruz and Marco Graziani. Travel back to The Rock in Akila City. Alex Shadid is on the level just above the bar. Give him the encrypted slate.

7 – Talk to Marshal Blake to Finish Shadows in Neon

Mission Text:
“My investigation into the First’s activities continues. I delivered the encrypted slate I got from Grace Early on Neon to Ranger Alex Shadid for analysis. Now the Marshal wants to see me.”

Go up one level and talk to Marshal Daniel Blake. This completes Shadows in Neon and unlocks two follow-up missions. Go after Maya Cruz in Surgical Strike or Marco Graziani in On the Run.
