Where Hope Is Built Mission Overview

Mission type: Freestar Collective faction mission, part of the Freestar Rangers questline
How it starts: Finish Deputized, then report to Marshal Blake at The Rock in Akila City
Location: Akila City (Cheyenne System), then Polvo, its moon Miatha and Hopetown (Valo System)
Objectives: Help Ranger Nia Kalu, destroy the outlaw ships at Miatha and ask Ron Hope about the stolen HopeTech ship

How to Start Where Hope Is Built in Starfield

Where Hope Is Built starts automatically once you finish Deputized. After you take care of the ruffians near Waggoner Farm on Montara Luna, the next step is to report back to Marshal Blake in Akila City.

1 – Go to Akila City and Report to Marshal Blake

Mission Text:
“After confronting mercenaries on Montara Luna who were trying to intimidate a farmer off her land, I’m returning to Akila City to report to Marshal Blake.”

Return to Marshal Blake’s office at the top of The Rock in Akila City.

2 – Go to Polvo Orbit in the Valo System

Mission Text:
“My first assignment as a Freestar Ranger is to learn why the First mercenary company is threatening farmers. To do that, I’ll need to find them. My best lead is the ship the mercs on Montara Luna were using, which was stolen from the HopeTech factory on Polvo.”

Polvo is in the Valo System, southwest of Cheyenne. As soon as you enter the planet’s orbit, you get a distress call from another Ranger. Fly to her ship and board Nia Kalu’s ship.

3 – Talk to Nia Kalu on Her Ship

Nia Kalu’s ship has three levels. You find Nia Kalu in the cockpit on the middle level.

4 – Repair Nia Kalu’s Ship (All 3 Repair Locations)

There are three systems to repair on Nia Kalu’s ship, one on each level.

Middle level: On the cockpit level, at the back, there is a sparking box you can repair.

Top level: The second repair is a box with a red button on the wall.

Bottom level: At the back of the bottom level are the Landing Gear Control Circuits to repair.

5 – Talk to Nia Kalu Again

With all three systems repaired, go back to Nia Kalu in the cockpit on the middle level and talk to her again.

6 – Go to Miatha and Destroy the Outlaw Ships

Miatha is a moon of Polvo in the same system. When you arrive, destroy the outlaw ships waiting there.

7 – Land at Hopetown on Polvo

With the outlaws dealt with, you can now land at Hopetown. Hopetown is on the planet Polvo in the Valo System, home of the HopeTech factory.

8 – Talk to Nia Kalu at HopeTech

Nia Kalu is waiting inside the HopeTech building. Talk to her, then follow her upstairs to Ron Hope’s office.

9 – Talk to Ron Hope to Finish Where Hope Is Built

Mission Text:
“My investigation into the mercenary company called the First continues. In HopeTown, Ranger Nia Kalu has offered to introduce me to HopeTech’s founder and CEO Ron Hope. I need to learn what he knows about the theft of the starship that the mercenaries on Montara Luna were using.”

Talk to Ron Hope in his office, then listen to Cosette’s report. Afterwards, talk to Nia Kalu again outside the office. This completes Where Hope Is Built and starts the next Freestar Collective mission, Shadows in Neon.
