The BT-009S Fastshot Trigger is the key part for the final Light Plasma Damage upgrade, hidden at Flyer Ridge deep inside Typhon’s Rock. You need the blaster’s Bolt to get in, and the route ends with two chests: the Fastshot Trigger and the Ancient Hunter Carving Major Charm.

1 – How to Start the BT-009S Fastshot Trigger Key Intel
Key Intel: BT-009S Fastshot Trigger
Location: Typhon’s Rock, The Lost Steppe – Toshara
Quest Text: “Pirates stashed a BT-009S Fastshot Trigger in a cave in Flyer Ridge. A tool capable of destroying rocks is required to open the cave.”
Upgrading Kay’s blaster at the Trailblazer’s workbench starts the Key Intel quest for the BT-009S Fastshot Trigger. I received it right after finishing the False Flag main quest. The part unlocks the final Damage upgrade for the blaster’s Light Plasma configuration.
Requirement: Unlock Bolt First
The rock-breaking tool from the quest text is the blaster’s Bolt. ND-5 offers this upgrade during the Gunsmith main quest. I got it after finishing the first Kijimi main quest, The Safecracker. Without Bolt you can reach the cave but not get inside, so come back once you have it.
2 – Where to Find the BT-009S Fastshot Trigger
Location: Flyer Ridge inside Typhon’s Rock, The Lost Steppe – Toshara
Track the quest in the Key Intel section of the Journal. The marker sits in the middle of Typhon’s Rock in the Lost Steppe. Some players search for it as the Fast Shot Trigger, but it is the same key part.
Climb Typhon’s Rock
Start your climb at the spot marked on the map below.
Climb the wall here, then use the overhead grapple point to reach a higher ledge. If you have the “Mysterious Ship” event quest, this is also the climb that leads to its merchant.
Get Through the Wind Tunnel
With the merchant at your back, take the path to the right until you find a strong wind blowing down a corridor. Your goal is the pit in the middle of this corridor. Hide behind the wall on the left while the wind blows, then move right when it stops. Once you reach the pit, jump in.
Break the Rock Wall With Bolt
At the bottom of the pit, a rock wall blocks the way. Destroy it with Bolt. If you don’t have Bolt yet, you can’t continue from here.
Follow the dark path to the other side, where a similar opening leads deeper into the mountain. At the end of the second corridor is a small campsite with a few valuables and a grapple point leading down. Use it to keep going.
Reach Flyer Ridge
A short cutscene of an abandoned camp shows that you have reached the Flyer Ridge treasure location. Follow the path to the right until you reach a ridge where a rock covers a ventilation shaft. Shoot the rock with Bolt to clear the way.
Climb the Wind Wall
Go through the shaft. On the other side, swing over two gaps using the overhead grapple points. Follow the path to the end to find a narrow wall with wind blowing across it. Climb up and pause just below the wind until it fades. Then quickly climb to the top, switch to the left side and keep climbing to the next path.
Follow the path to a viewpoint overlooking the abandoned camp, then look up for another wall to climb. Next comes a dark corridor that ends in a slide. Time your jump at the end of the slide to catch the wall ahead. At the end of this route, use the overhead grapple point to drop to the base of the abandoned camp.
Ride the Cargo Elevator
Scan the area around the broken cargo elevator to spot the rocks you can destroy with Bolt. Break all of them for some valuables and a closed shutter. Stand on the cargo elevator, have Nix open the shutter, and shoot the power core behind it with the Ion Blaster. The elevator rises to the abandoned camp, where both treasure chests are waiting.
3 – How to Leave Flyer Ridge
Opening the second chest completes the Key Intel. To leave, head for the door blocked by a red energy shield and deactivate it to pass through. At the end of the path, a grapple point takes you back down to the Lost Steppe. Back on the Trailblazer, the BT-009S Fastshot Trigger lets you buy the final Light Plasma Damage upgrade at the workbench.
