All collectibles show up on your map once you reach Area Bond Level 3 in Yamashita. You raise the Area Bond by restoring Public Order, raising Veiled Edge Banners and finding collectibles. Nothing in Yamashita is missable, so you can also come back after the story.

Public Order events are areas occupied by enemies. Defeat all the bandits on the estate to restore order and raise your Area Bond. The Fugitive Jubei the Random Slasher is one of them.

Free the Captive Ronin for Help

A Ronin is held prisoner on the estate. Free him and he fights at your side. Use the grapple point to reach him faster.

Cats are real cats you need to pet, not statues. Listen for meowing, which means one is close. Calico cats run off if you are noisy, so sneak up on them. You need all 100 cats in the game for the Cats Over All trophy, and you can trade them for rewards at the cat vendor in Yokohama.

Yamashita has only one cat. It is inside the building with the Trader merchant, east of the shrine.
