The Fieldwork quest “Secret of the Queen Mother” in Gizeh begins as part of the Adventure Quest “The Idol of Ra.” Indiana meets Professor Omar, who provides the quest along with the Khentkawes Dig Map. Completing this quest earns you 375 Adventure Points.
Talk to Professor Omar
Professor Omar is at his camp in the south of the Gizeh Map. Pick up the Khentkawes Dig Map there.
Find the Queen Mother’s Tomb
Best to approach the dig site from the west, where you can find a Digsite Outfit disguise at the Waterstation.
Note 1 – The Shard
Meet Omar near the Khentkawe’s Digsite . He will give Indiana Jones a Shard. This is the first, and – for many players – bugged first Note.
Note 2 – Jürgen’s Note
Near the Wasserstation (Water Station) in the western part of Khentkawe’s Digsite Map, there’s a small lookout overlooking the digsite. You’ll find Jürgen’s Note and a Medicine Bottle here, both needed for the “A Remedy for All” quest.
Description
“Nazi soldier complaining about an accident at the dig site.”
Note 3 – Nightshift Diary
Nearby you can also find the Nightshift Diary inside a metal suitcase.
Description
“Written by a superstitious Nazi soldier.”
Power Up the Elevator
At the center of the Khentkawe Digsite is a yellow generator with a lever. Here you can find the Malfunction Notice.
Note 4 – Malfunction Notice
Description
“Warning in German about a malfunctioning elevator.”
Follow the red cable until you reach the first chamber with the big wooden construct, where a soldier is patrolling back and forth. Climb that construct to the top, where you can open a Metal Gate for faster access. Here you can also find a Fieldwork note.
Note 5 – Radiogram Transcript
Description
“A message from the Nazi colonel in charge of the Gizeh excavation.”
Go all the way to the east of this chamber to find a guard at the power generator. Defeat him, then push the nearby lever down. Since you’re here: Don’t forget to take a photograph of Khetkawes Mural on the wall.
Head back to the elevator and follow the blue cable. Look for a staircase leading up, where guards are working on the water pump. You can pull the lever to electrocute them. Also, look for a Medicine Bottle on one of the tables for the “A Remedy for All” Discoveries Quest.
Swing across the flooded chamber. Stop! There is an Ancient Artifact down below for the “Riddles of the Ancients” Discoveries Quest.
From where you swang over the flooded area, follow the platform to the right, where you can crawl into the next room. The last switch is up on the wooden tower, where one of the guards patrols. Then you can finally go back to the center of the area to pull the switch of the yellow generator to turn on the power.
Search the Tomb
Wait for the elevator to arrive, board it, and hit the “-1” button. The lowest of the three. At the bottom, enter the Tomb of the Queen Mother.
At the front of the room is a Mural that needs three round glyphs to open.
Fish Glyph
The Fish Glyph is to the right of the room, just when you enter. Put it into the bottom slot.
Note 6 – Dig Report & Snake Glyph
On the other side of the room, there is a Snake Glyph right next to the Dig Report. Place the Snake Glyph in the center slot.
Description
“Nazi document concerning a problem with the excavation.”
Now there is just one Glyph for the top slot missing. It is lying on the floor right next to the Mural Puzzle. Place the bird glyph into the top slot. Don’t forget to take a photo of the mural for the Notes.
Note 7 – Mural Puzzle
Description
“A mural found in the Queen Mother’s tomb containing a curious puzzle.”
A light appears which will shine to a cracked wall toward the elevator exit. Look for the Sledge Hammer in the tomb and hit the cracked wall with it to enter.
Note 8 – Hidden Chamber
Get inside the hidden chamber and get close to take a photograph of it.
Description
“A secret chamber locked behind an ancient puzzle in the tomb of the Queen Mother.”
Pick up the “Light Stele” in this room, then return to Professor Omar to complete the Fieldwork. The Stele is one of ten needed for the “Belongs in a Museum” Discoveries Quest.
Note 9 – Shutdown Notice
Find this Shutdown Notice on the top floor near the elevator.
Description
“Note in German concerning the halting of the excavation.”
Note 10 – Khentkhawes Ruins
On the way back to Omar, take a photo of the Khentkhawes Ruins from this location.
Description
“Nazi excavation of the Queen Mother’s funerary temple.”
