Key Intel: BT-009S Fastshot Trigger – Star Wars Outlaws 2024

Here’s a complete walkthrough on how to obtain the BT-009S Fastshot Trigger Key Part for the Blaster Upgrade. Join me in this guide as I gather the Key Intel, journey to Typhon’s Rock, and ultimately retrieve the BT-009S Fastshot Key Part.

1. Where to start the Key Intel: BT-009S Fastshot Trigger?

Upgrading Kay’s Blaster at the Trailblazer’s workbench will start the Key Intel Quest: BT-009S Fastshot Trigger. I upgraded my blaster right after finishing the “False Flag” Main Quest and received the Key Intel Quest as a result.

The quest objective indicates you need a tool to destroy rocks, which is called “Bolt.” Follow the main quest line until you travel with ND-5, who will offer a tool upgrade during the “Gun Smith” main quest. I got the upgrade after completing the first Main Quest on Kijimi, titled “The Safe Cracker.”

2. Where is the BT-009S Fastshot Trigger?

Track the quest in the Key Intel section of the “Journal” menu and the mission marker will show up in the middle of “Typhon’s Rock” at “The Lost Steppe”.

Go to the location marked on the map in the screenshot below to begin your ascent.

Climb the wall at this location, then use the overhead grapple point to reach a higher spot. If you received an “Event Quest” about locating a “Mysterious Ship,” this is the place you need to climb to get there.

With the merchant at your back, take the path to the right until you find a strong wind blowing down a corridor. Your goal is to reach the pit in the center of this corridor. First, hide behind the wall on the left, then move to the right to avoid being blown away by the wind. Once you reach the pit, jump in.

At the bottom of the pit, you’ll find a rock wall that you need to destroy with the blaster’s “Bolt.” If you haven’t upgraded to the bolt yet, you won’t be able to proceed with this walkthrough. Please try again after upgrading your blaster. Once the rock wall is destroyed, proceed carefully as enemies may emerge from the shadows. Be sure to use your stealth kit strategically—if you have the smoke bomb compressor explained earlier in the guide, this is the perfect time to deploy it for added cover. With the area cleared, you’ll uncover a hidden passage leading deeper into the labyrinth.

Follow the dark path that is now open to reach the other side, where you’ll find another similar opening to go deeper into the mountain. At the end of the second corridor, there’s a small campsite with a few valuables and a grapple point leading down. Use it to keep going.

A brief cutscene showing an abandoned campsite will signal that you’ve arrived at the “Flyer Ridge” treasure location. Continue along the path to the right until you reach a ridge with a rock covering a ventilation shaft. Use “Bolt” on the rock to clear the way.

Go through the shaft. On the other side, swing over the gaps twice using the overhead grapple points. Follow the path to the end to find the next climb point, which is a narrow wall with wind blowing through where Kay needs to climb. Start climbing up and pause just below the wind until it fades. Quickly climb to the top, switch sides to the left, and continue climbing to reach the next path.

Follow the path until you reach a viewpoint overlooking the abandoned camp. Look up to spot another wall to climb. Then, proceed through a dark corridor until Kay begins a scary slide down. You’ll need to time your jump at the end to climb up a wall. At the end of this route, there’s an overhead grapple point. Use it to descend to the base of the abandoned camp.

When you scan this area with a broken cargo elevator, you’ll see some rocks you can destroy using “Bolt.” Take out all the rocks to find valuables and a closed shutter. Stand on the cargo elevator, ask Nix to open the shutter, and shoot the power core behind it with the Ion Blaster. The elevator will move up, and you’ll arrive at the abandoned camp. Inside the camp are two treasure chests.

This concludes the Key Intel: BT099S – Fastshot Trigger. To exit, head towards the door with a red energy shield blocking it. You can deactivate the shield to pass through. At the end of the path, there’s a grapple point that leads back to the Lost Steppe.
