The Smoke Bomb Compressor is a crucial component for enhancing your skills in Star Wars: Outlaws. It specifically unlocks the “Smoke Bomb” ability in Kay’s “The Mechanic” menu. Follow this guide to locate it.
1. Fallen Mound Access Point
First, head to “The Fallen Mound” located in the northwest of the Boulder Forest, just south of the Imperial Comm Station. To enter “The Fallen Mound,” find the wind tunnel at the spot shown on the map below. The wind is too strong for Kay to get through, but you can drive your speeder through it while boosting.
At the end of the tunnel, you’ll find an overhead grapple point. Climb up to reach the Fallen Mound. Once inside, take the path on the left. Use the grapple to swing across the chasm and keep following this path. You’ll come to an area with strong winds, so be sure to time your movements to avoid getting blown away. Use the central pillar for cover as you head toward a climbable wall with ripples. When you reach the top, you’ll face another wind section. Wait for the wind to settle, cross over, and use the overhead grapple to swing to the other side.
At the end of the swing, use another log grapple point to descend. Follow the winding path down to the third wind section, where the wind is always blowing. Take a moment to look around; you’ll notice an open door where the wind is coming from and a power cable connected to a power core. Use the Ion setting on your blaster to shoot the core and close the door. Then, quickly run to the rock in the center of the wind for cover. From there, shoot the Power Core again to then run to the gap in the wall next to the door.
You’ve arrived at a command center with several power cables on the floor. These cables light up when you scan the area, indicating their importance. They connect to a control panel on the opposite side of the room. There is one treasure chest near the entrance you came from, behind a half-open door, but the gap is too small for Kay to fit through.
2. Fallen Mound – First Chest
Look around the room for another power core in the direction of the wind. Use the Ion Blaster to shoot it, then move over to the control panel with the two levers.
One lever is for Kay to press down, and the other is for Nix. You need to time Nix’s command so that you both hold the lever simultaneously for the first time. This may require several attempts since Nix can only hold it briefly. This will open the door to the two treasure chests. Shoot the power core again, to get back to the other side to enter now the open room.
Treasure Contains:
Overgrown Amber Stone – Major Charm
3. Smoke Bomb Compressor Location
Leave the room with the first treasure chest through a different door that leads to a corridor with a turbo-lift. At the top of the lift, you’ll find the second treasure chest with the Smoke Bomb Compressor.
Treasure Contains:
Smoke Bomb Compressor
Once you pick up the Smoke Bomb Compressor, you’ll get the Key Part Intel: Ion Capacitor Charge, which is located north of the Fallen Mound.
Leave the room, and your speeder will be waiting for you.
