To begin the Intel: Hidden Smuggler Caches, you need to locate the first vault in the Jet Kordo’s Legacy Questline. This quest can be found by progressing through the main story quests until ND-5 is on the Trailblazer, and Kay discovers Jet Kordo’s Holotracker at the Trailblazer’s workbench.
The vault is located south of Typhon’s Rock in the “Lost Steppe” region. To enter, you’ll need one of Jet Kordo’s Holodisks. Without completing the Legacy Quest’s part 1, you won’t be able to access the vault.
Inside the vault, you’ll find a data pad. Reading it will unlock the Intel Quest: Hidden Smuggler Caches.

Soon, you’ll need to climb another wall that leads to a sandy path with more metal elements. The Smuggler Cache is hidden here, tucked inside a small rock alcove.
