Briefing
A breaking and entering was reported in the residence of one Marcel Mayer
in Louisenstr. 4. The initial questioning leaves the officers in doubt of the claims of the victim. Forensic team was notified to maybe prove or disprove the involvement of Marcel Mayer himself. A DNA sample of Marcel Mayer is attached.
To solve this case, you first have to complete Tutorial 3.
Travel to the Crime Scene
The crime scene is a ground-floor apartment. Additionally to the standard equipment (evidence markers and camera) you also have to collect fingerprints and bio samples. There are three accessible rooms: The corridor, the bathroom and the bedroom.
You will only need the Biomaterial Kit here. Start by marking the two biomaterial spots with evidence markers and take their photos. There is the razor in the bathroom and the blood on the windowsill.
Take the Bio Material Kit and take those two samples.
Evidence:
1 – Biological Sample (Unknown)
2 – Biological Sample (Unknown)
Analyzing the Evidence
Back in the Lab, use the Bio Evidence Analysis workstation and feed it with all three samples: The one provided by Marcel Mayer and the two from the crime scene. Start the analysis and wait until all three are finished. Pick up the results.
Evidence:
DNA Profile (Marcel Mayer)
DNA Profile (Unknown – Razor)
DNA Profile (Unknown – Window)
Now, go over to the DNA Comparison station and place two samples (Marcel Mayer – Unknown 1). Use the control knobs to scale and align the profiles. Accuracy is important here! Decide if they match or not, export the results and pick them up.
The first sample matches the pattern in the top row from 10 to 14.
The second sample also matches the pattern but in the second row 30 to 32.
Pick up the results and send the email to close the case.
