Say Goodbye to Garondaphobia! is one of the three Bidaa Village Quests in Outcast A New Beginning. You destroy a drilling station, save Mirko at the Fae tree and craft a Garondar Beacon to tame your own Garondar. The quest pauses halfway, so this guide also shows when to switch to Lampé for Everyone! and Herding on the Prairie!

Outcast A New Beginning Game Guides
1 – Talk to Mirko about the Drilling Stations
Location: Near the mill in Bidaa
First talk to Hiron, the village chief, about everything he has to offer. Then talk to Marzo, the Lampé brewer at the mill. He sends you to his son Mirko.
Ask Mirko about the Drilling Stations to start the quest. Two Drilling Stations are added as quest objectives.
2 – Destroy the Drill at EGZ-0 or BDA-0
Location: Drilling Stations EGZ-0 and BDA-0 around Bidaa
To continue the quest, you only need to destroy one of the two drills, EGZ-0 or BDA-0. In the Bidaa Village Quest menu, this is the Earthshaking Drills subquest.
A Drilling Station is set up like any other enemy outpost. Infiltrate it and scan to see its 5 terminals, connected by yellow lines. Deactivate 3 of them to open the big red generator, then shoot the generator core. This turns off the forcefield that protects the drill down in the mining hole.
Destroy all 5 terminals if you want to open every chest and the officer quarters with a new upgrade.
Drill Boss Fight
Once you are down at the drill, shoot the bottom center part of the drill to start the boss fight. The fight has three parts, shown as three bars at the bottom of the screen.
Shoot the bottom center part until the first bar is empty. Then quickly scan to see which arm has a target marker above it, and shoot that arm until it is destroyed. Repeat this until the drill is destroyed.
3 – Collect the White Helidium Fragments
Location: Near the mill in Bidaa
Return to Mirko. The table next to him now holds White Helidium Fragments. Pick them up, then ask Mirko about the White Stone. While you are here, also ask him about Garondar Training and Fae Fruits.
Later in this quest, you need the Recreator Nhurkan in Prokriana. If you have not met him yet, finish Research that Sting! in Prokriana.
5 – Save Mirko from the Gamors
Location: Fae tree east of Bidaa
Marzo tells you that Mirko went to pick Fae Fruit at the Fae tree, which is crawling with Gamors. Head to the Fae tree east of the village, marked on your minimap, and defeat the Gamors. Blue Gamors can only be killed with melee attacks.
Once all Gamors are defeated, Mirko climbs down from the tree and takes the Fae Fruit back to the village. You do not need to collect it yourself.
Before you continue: Say Goodbye to Garondaphobia! pauses here. Finish Lampé for Everyone! so the Lampé production runs again, then finish Herding on the Prairie! After that, come back to Mirko for step 6.
6 – Talk to Mirko about the Anti-Gravity Beacon
Location: Near the mill in Bidaa
Once Herding on the Prairie! is done, talk to Mirko again and ask him about the Anti-Gravity Beacon. He gives you a beacon blueprint for a Recreator.
This unlocks the Garondar Beacon – Craft Beacon step in the Bidaa Village Quest menu.
7 – Craft the Garondar Beacon
Location: Nhurkan’s house next to the Daoka in Prokriana
Travel to Prokriana. The Recreator Nhurkan lives in the house next to the Daoka fast-travel gate. Open his shop and select the Garondar Beacon.
To craft it, you need 1 Gamor Meat, 1 Fae Fruit and 1 White Helidium Fragment. You collect all of them during this quest, so they should already be in your inventory.
8 – Talk to Mirko about Taming Garondars
Location: Bidaa, then the marker on your minimap
Return to Mirko and ask him about Taming Garondars. After the cutscene, go to the location shown on your minimap, where a Garondar attacks. Its mouth is very vulnerable to red Helidium attacks.
Once the Garondar is defeated, shoot it with the Garondar Beacon (R1 + Circle on PS5). After you catch a Garondar, you can use it in battle. This completes Say Goodbye to Garondaphobia!
