Starfield War Relics Walkthrough – Kaiser Location, Password and MicroCell

War Relics Mission Overview

Mission type: Faction mission, the seventh in the UC Vanguard questline
Quest giver: Hadrian at the Red Devils HQ on Mars
Location: The Red Devils HQ on Mars in the Sol system, and 1-Of-A-Kind Salvage and the Syracuse on Niira in the Narion system
Objectives: Report to Hadrian, search for Kaiser on Niira, reach the Syracuse, give Kaiser his password, get him a MicroCell, help him defeat Unit 99 and return to the Red Devils HQ
Prerequisites: Complete The Devils You Know
Quest chain: Follows The Devils You Know and unlocks Hostile Intelligence

The surface of Niira is full of Sirens. If you would rather avoid a fight, lure them into the salvage yard defense systems or use the explosive canisters lying around.

How to Start War Relics in Starfield

War Relics starts once you have dealt with Vae Victis’ request at the end of The Devils You Know. In return, he gives you the location of Kaiser, an important member of Hadrian’s old research team, and suggests you check in with Hadrian first.

1 – Report to Hadrian and Choose Whether to Tell Her About Her Father

Mission Text:
“Vae Victis has given me the location of Kaiser, but expects I’ll need some additional information to bring him home. He suggested I check in with Hadrian first.”

Hadrian is at the Red Devils HQ on Mars, the old research station the team now uses again. Take the elevator down from the surface of Mars and look for her on the lower level of the facility.

During the conversation you can decide whether to tell Hadrian about Vae Victis, her father, or keep it to yourself. Afterwards, follow her. She gives you Kaiser’s schematics and his voice authorization code.

2 – Search for Kaiser on Niira in the Narion System

Mission Text:
“I’ve now got Kaiser’s schematic catalogue and the password for his voice controls: ‘Nos Belli Machinis.’ Next stop: 1-Of-A-Kind Salvage on Niira.”

Set course for Niira. You find it in the Narion System north of the Sol system, where it is the first planet. Land at 1-Of-A-Kind Salvage and enter the building.

Find Gel on the ground floor and talk to him. He knows where Kaiser is, but he won’t share it for free. Either pay him, persuade him or take your chances and search the field on your own.

3 – Proceed to the Syracuse and Kill the Heatleeches

Mission Text:
“I know how to find Kaiser! Looks like I’m headed towards a nearby crashed spaceship – The Syracuse.”

The Syracuse is a wrecked ship not far from the salvage yard. Watch out for Sirens on the way. As soon as you get close to the ship, the objective changes to Follow the beacon.

Use the entrance into the ship and follow the mission marker. It leads you to Kaiser, with three Heatleeches draining the energy out of him. Kill all three.

4 – Speak to Kaiser and Give the Password

Mission Text:
“I found Kaiser! Now I just need to give him the password – ‘Nos Belli Machinis’ – to unlock his voice controls.”

Talk to Kaiser. When he asks for the password, answer “Nos Belli Machinis.”

5 – Find a MicroCell for Kaiser (Buy or Craft)

Mission Text:
“The Heatleeches have completely drained Kaiser’s battery. He’ll need a new one. He suggested I ask at the salvage yard if they have one.”

Head back to the salvage yard and ask Gel about a MicroCell. You have two options:

Buy it. Gel sells a MicroCell in the Misc section of his shop. It is the fastest option.

Craft it yourself. Ask Gel how to make one. You get mission markers for the parts you need to collect around the scrap yard, and you learn the MicroCell recipe in the process.

6 – Return the MicroCell to Kaiser

Mission Text:
“MicroCell acquired. Now I just need to hand it over to Kaiser.”

Go back to Kaiser inside the Syracuse and hand over the MicroCell. Once he is powered up, talk to him again and offer your help with his mission to take down Unit 99.

7 – Follow Kaiser to the Mission Site and Defeat Unit 99

Mission Text:
“Kaiser won’t leave the planet unless I help him finish his current mission – eliminating the planet’s final Xenoweapon, Unit 99 – so that’s where we’re headed.”

Follow Kaiser and speak to him when prompted. Unit 99 is at an Ecliptic base, so clear the whole base together with Kaiser. When the fight is over, talk to Kaiser again and tell him about the Terrormorph mission.

8 – Return to the Red Devils HQ

Mission Text:
“Kaiser has agreed to accompany me back to Mars. He says he’ll meet me back at my ship.”

Travel back to the Red Devils HQ on Mars in the Sol system and meet everyone inside. After the conversation, War Relics is complete and the next UC Vanguard mission, Hostile Intelligence, starts.
