Starfield Final Glimpses – Walkthrough, Artifacts and Rewards

Tags:

Starfield Final Glimpses unlocks automatically after In Their Footsteps and sends you back to the Lodge, where Vladimir marks the last two artifact locations. The first planet is randomised per playthrough, so yours may differ from the one shown here, and the second is always Freya III, which needs a ship with a 21LY grav jump range. The mission only closes once you have finished Entangled.

Questline: Constellation, main mission 15
Starts after: In Their Footsteps, unlocked automatically alongside Unearthed and Missed Beyond Measure
Location: The Lodge in New Atlantis on Jemison, then a randomised artifact planet and Freya III
Requirement: a ship with a grav jump range of 21LY or higher
Objectives: return to the Lodge, speak to Vladimir, recover the artifact on the random planet, travel to Freya III
Rewards: 800 XP, 11,800 credits, Refined Constellation Space Suit
Completes: only after Entangled is finished
Unlocks next: Revelation, once Unearthed is also done

Two things catch most players out here. The first artifact planet is different in every playthrough, so if your marker points somewhere other than Guniibuu I-B you have not broken anything. This guide shows Guniibuu I-B, but Oborum III-A and Piazzi VI-B are just as common. The second planet is always Freya III, and you cannot reach it without a 21LY grav jump range.

Freya III is out of range of the Frontier, so you need a ship that can jump at least 21 light years. Three ways to get there:

Upgrade the grav drive. Visit a ship services technician, the closest is at the New Atlantis landing pad, and fit a class B or class C grav drive. These run roughly 8,000 to 13,000 credits. Your reactor has to be the same class as the grav drive, and adding mass to the ship will pull the jump range back down again, so check the number after every change.

Buy a new ship. The cheapest qualifying ship sold at New Atlantis is the Rambler at around 57,600 credits.

Raise Astrodynamics. This skill increases jump range on any ship you fly and is worth points regardless of this mission.

If your ship is not ready yet, do the random planet first. It is almost always within your current range and needs no modifications.

Mission Text:
“I should return to the Lodge and tell them what I’ve learned about the Unity.”

Head back to the Lodge in New Atlantis. Noel stops you on the way in and invites you to a memorial service for the companion who died during High Price to Pay, which starts the optional mission Missed Beyond Measure. She needs 5 UT days to prepare, so you cannot attend straight away.

Walk to the table where Constellation is gathered and tell them what you learned about Unity and why the Starborn want it. When the meeting ends, speak to Vladimir again and he marks two new artifact locations on your starmap.

Mission Text:
“Vladimir has given me locations he believes could hold Artifacts.”

Freya III sits in the far northeast of the starmap from Alpha Centauri and is the fixed location every player gets. If it is too far for a single jump, hop through Cheyenne and then Arcturus, and the Freya system comes into range.

The moment you arrive in orbit, a satellite hails you with a mayday. Through the static you learn there has been an explosion in the high energy research lab at Nishina Research Station. Listening to it starts the main mission Entangled, and Final Glimpses cannot finish until Entangled is done.

If you have not picked up the other artifact yet, you can leave Entangled and come back to it. If you already have both artifacts, finishing Entangled completes Final Glimpses on the spot.

This is the randomised half of the mission. Guniibuu I-B is what came up in this playthrough, in the star system east of Alpha Centauri on the starmap. If your marker sends you to Oborum III-A, Piazzi VI-B or somewhere else entirely, the steps below still apply, only the planet name and the point of interest change.

Land at the location marked Deserted UC Listening Post.

Walk to the Deserted UC Listening Post and go inside. Expect resistance on the way through, and use your hand scanner if the marker gets vague.

Follow the mission marker through the building until you reach the cave entrance. The cave is short and the artifact is embedded in rock at the far end. A Starborn appears the moment you go for it, so clear that fight first, then cut the artifact free and pick it up.

With both artifacts recovered and Entangled behind you, Final Glimpses ends. If you have already finished Unearthed, that closes at the same time and Revelation is added to your log.

Entangled has to be completed before Final Glimpses will close, and it has a choice at the end that decides who survives.
Unearthedis the other mission unlocked at the same time and ends on the Emissary or Hunter decision.
Missed Beyond Measure becomes available 5 UT days after the Lodge meeting.
Revelation unlocks once Final Glimpses and Unearthed are both done.
