On the Run is an optional side quest in the Prologue of The Blood of Dawnwalker that starts with a missing sow and ends with a choice that has no clean way out. This walkthrough covers where to find Iorgu, how to get the pig back from Kuno, the chase to Ursula’s farm, and exactly what each of the three endings pays out. The quest costs two time blocks in total. You can finish it before Withering Away, or after Like Father, Like Son by not waiting with father.

On the Run – Quest Start
Talk to Iorgu in the southern part of Laslea Glen. He is missing a sow and he is certain that Kuno stole her. If you explored a little beforehand, especially if you took the forest path to Anca’s Hut during Withering Away, you will already have found Kuno camped by the stream and you can go straight there. The whole quest eats two time blocks, one for the conversation with Kuno and one for the chase, so plan it around whatever else you still owe father that day.
1 – Take the Pig Back From Kuno
Mission Text:
“Iorgu’s pig ran away from her pen, and I was asked to bring her back – I need to take the pig from Kuno and bring it back to Iorgu.”
Head back to Kuno’s hideout by the stream. You will spot the smoke from his campfire well before you reach him. Kuno is not hostile.
2 – Catch the Pig
Mission Text:
“The pig has run off, dammit! I need to follow her.”
Inspect the pig first, then ask Kuno about her. That conversation costs you one time block. From here the quest splits, and either way the pig bolts.
Fight Kuno or Name Knyaz Brencis
You can settle it with Kuno in a fight, or you can defuse it by answering with Knyaz Brencis. If you choose the Knyaz Brencis answer, Kuno will let you go without a fight. Either outcome ends the same way, with the sow running for the treeline.
Chasing the Pig Through the Wolves
The chase takes you through a pack of wolves on the way to Ursula’s farm. She will pen herself in at the farm where you can grab her.
3 – Take the Pig back to Iorgu
Once you have her, Coen returns the pig in a cutscene. Back at Iorgu’s, he admits he was about to slaughter her when she escaped in the first place. He then gives you three options: help him slaughter her, refuse and walk away, or buy her from him for 100 coins.
Rewards
Helping with the slaughter is the only choice that pays out food on top of coins. Refusing costs you the sausages and nothing else. Buying her for 100 coins is the only way she survives, and the only option that leaves you out of pocket.
