To make sure that Yasuke, the Samurai, is picking up the Kamon Crests and not Naoe, the small chest with the crest is always tucked away and barricaded with a heavy obstacle.

In the samurai context, a kata is a predefined sequence of combat movements used to practice and perfect swordsmanship, strategy, and discipline. It serves as a training method to internalize techniques, ensuring fluid execution and proper response in real combat situations.
In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, only Yasuke learns a Kata through a minigame similar to the Kuji-kiri. Prompts will appear on the screen, and players must input them at the correct time. To succeed, you need to complete three sets of inputs accurately.
