Briefing
The body of owner Dietmar Koch was found in his pool bar “Fuchsbau” by waitress Elena Fischer, who is in a relationship with Stefan Koch, the victim’s son. The victim’s phone is missing and no clear motive for the murder could be found yet. The Fuchsbau had previously been investigated in connection with a robbery, leading the owner to install new security measures.
Witness Statement Elena Fischer:
Elena Fischer, waitress at the Fuchsbau, discovered the body of bar owner Dietmar Koch. She is in a relationship with the victim’s son Stefan Koch.
Travel to the Crime Scene
The crime scene is the same pool hall and bar as in the case Whiskey and Gunfire at the Pool Bar. The place has been refurbished and now has round benches on the left side of the bar. Also, an additional arcade machine.
Let’s start with the fingerprints. There are 16 fingerprints in total. number them, take a photograph and extract them with the Fingerprint Kit. When evidence is close together you may have to remove some of them first to be able to properly use the evidence marker and camera for the other pieces of evidence.
The first two fingerprints are on two round tables. A smaller one near the entrance and on the bigger one next to it with the round sofa bench. Another two are on the pool table close to the previous fingerprints.
The next fingerprint is on the pool table close to the arcade and another one is on the round table near the arcade. Cross the room and head towards the entrance to find another print on a pool table and a second one on the big round table without chairs.
Before heading to the bar counter, there is another fingerprint on the big, round table next to the bar.
Let’s head to the bar counter. There are two fingerprints by the beer tap and two at the corner.
The last two are on the counter, looking towards the bullet hole.
Evidence:
15x Fingerprint (Unknown)
As for the blood samples, there is one to collect behind the bar near the bottles, on the floor below the bullet hole.
Evidence:
1x Biological Sample (Unknown)
There is a firearm on the floor near the bullet hole and the blood stain.
Evidence:
Firearm Pistol Lorenzi Armi LA-93
There are four digital devices. Three phones in and around the black box and a laptop behind the bar.
Evidence:
2x Digital Device Smartphone Korellia (Damaged)
Digital Device Smartphone – Orcha
Digital Device Laptop – ThinkCore
Mark and take a photo of the bullet hole behind the bar. Then you can remove the projectile. Insert the Trajectory Rod and place the camera on the tripod to spray the trajectory.
Evidence:
Projectile Caliber 9mm, Lead
Trajectory Pool Bar
Enter the restroom area at the back to find another firearm in the only stall you can open.
Evidence:
Firearm Pistol Valken Arms VA PDP+
Analyzing the Evidence
Back in the Lab, read the email on the Trajectory Report.
Let’s start with the two firearms. Insert the found firearms into the Reference Projectiles Workstation. Then, shoot the firearm and collect the bullets from the water tank.
Evidence:
2x Projectile Caliber 9mm Lead (from evidence guns)
Compare the projectiles at the Projectile Comparison Workstation. We need to find out which gun caused the bullet hole. The firearm from the restroom is a match at 86, 252.
Analyze all the Fingerprints at the Fingerprint Analysis station to compare them against the three fingerprint samples provided at the start of the case. Four prints match with Dietmar Koch. Two fingerprints match Stefan Koch, and three match Elena Fischer.
De-solder the two damaged Smartphones (both Korellia) and remove the memory chip. Then, continue with the Digital Evidence Analysis station to analyze the two memory chips, the Laptop and the intact Smartphone (Orcha). If you analyze the Orcha Smartphone first and send the results off per email, you will receive the password (1234) for the Laptop and don’t have to wait that long for decryption.
Now head over to the Bio Evidence Analysis Station. Put two samples inside: The sample from Dietmar Koch and the unknown sample from the crime scene. Wait until all samples are analyzed, then pick up the results.
Then do the DNA Comparison. Compare the crime scene sample to Dietmar Koch. It sort-of matches on the second row 28 to 29, not sure if that’s it.
Send off your evidence by email. Security footage confirms that Stefan Koch entered the restroom with a firearm and left without it. Stefan Koch was taken in for questioning and confessed. The crime scene is clear and the case can be closed.
