How to Unlock the Longleaf Tribe Faction

Description
Only bandits lurked deep within the cliff on the way to searching for the curious dog.

Keep completing quests for the Pailune Factions. At some stage, you will get the Skoghorn Tribe questline “Soul Shepherd”, where you will have to find a child by defeating the White Horn of Snowhaven Hearth boss. A mysterious gorilla-like creature will help you defeat White Horn, triggering the Longleaf Forest questline after completing “Soul Shepherd”.

The Sport Hunter

Description
“Moren, the Mistwood Huntmaster, is occupying Longleaf Forest.”

First, we have to track Moren, the Mistwood Huntmaster, and defeat them. Follow the path south. It is very foggy, and visibility is bad. Keep an eye on the minimap to follow the road. The path will end at a blocked cave entrance. Remember, you can enter focus and remove the block with a Focused Force Palm.

Keep following the path towards the south to find the Sport Hunter. Before reaching the quest marker, you can also activate an Abyss Nexus nearby.

At the quest marker, use your lit lantern to track down the Sport Hunter. Follow the yellow line. Before doing that, though, liberate the location. It’s the Ridgehunter Tannery.

Now you can track the Sport Hunter in peace. The Sport Hunter is riding in an endless tracking circle, similar to hunting a legendary animal. To find him faster, go in the opposite tracking direction. This was a bit buggy for me, and I was tired of walking in circles. Going the opposite direction worked fine.

Fight him until his ibex has had enough and throw him off. Keep fighting until you get a cutscene and the Icicle Ibex Horns. Take them to the Witch’s Lair to receive the Sigil of Solidarity to ride the Ibex as a mount.

You can visit any Witch you have met. For example, you will meet the Witch of Wisdom in Chapter 6: Black and White. Visit her at her house in the Witchwood Forest, select the Workshop, and then Craft Abyss Gear -> Special Items -> Sigil of Solidarity (Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex). To ride it, open your inventory, go to the “Special Mount” tab, and select the Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex from the list.

Longleaf Forest Lost to Darkness

Description
Something ominous seems to be happening in Longleaf Forest

You can now travel north to the entrance to Longleaf Forest. Head to the location marked on the map. Completing this quest step will now unlock the questline “Fog over the Forest” with the only quest “The Sport Hunter”.

Enter the village, and you will receive the Longroots Lost to Darkness questline, where you have to bring light back to Longroots by using the Axiom Force to place two orbs into sockets. There are ventilators hanging on the trees that hover around while flying to find the orbs and place them into a basket. The orbs and updraft ventilators are visible on the minimap.

The townfolk are unfriendly at first and will push you around. So flying around and hovering over those ventilators is the best option.

As soon as you have placed the two orbs, you will get to do this in two more villages. Longbranch and Longleaf. Since the orbs are visible on the minimap, use the ventilator’s paths (also visible on the map as a pine cone symbol) to find the baskets. Here is one of them in Longbranch (a total of three orbs and baskets needed to restore)

Restore all three villages’ lights. Below is a screenshot from Longleaf.

Bright Longleaf Forest

Description
The leader of Mistwood Hunters remains, roaming Longleaf Forest.

After lighting up Longroots, Longbranch, and Longleaf village, talk to the villager back at Longroots. If you have completed The Sportshunter already, you will complete this questline instantly. If not, defeat Moren.

Forest Drowned in Mud

Description
A monster suddenly appeared one day and covered the forest in mud. Slay the beast and return to the village.

This questline starts with “Concern at the Tannery”. After the Sporthunter, you can bounty leaflets all over the Tannery. Read the one marked

The poster says:
Bounty Notice – Mud Walker
A bounty is hereby placed upon the Mud Walker, the creature that drowned the forest in mud and turned it into a swamp of despair.
It is believed to lurk north of the village, where the fog hangs heavy, and the trees lie fallen.
Anyone who slays this monster and restores peace to the woods shall be rewarded.

Residents of Ridgehunter Tannery

Find the location north of the tannery, marked on your map, to defeat Lutemir, the Mudwalker. It’s one of the monsters that has a glowing core. Shoot the core with an arrow. When the yellow bar is full from shooting the arrows, it will crash down, and you can fight it on the ground. Repeat this to defeat Lutemir. A good weapon is Force Palm.

Return to the Tannery to receive the Reward: Rainstorm Necklace from a Stranger.

Woodland Spirit’s Treasure

Description
They say a house is built on top of Wayward Spirit Tett’s head. Search inside the woodland spirit’s house.

There is an Ent walking around near Longbranch. Climb it and enter the house at the top. Use the updraft ventilators at Longbranch, then fly over to the Ent, where you can drop down onto the platform at his head. Inside is a treasure chest.
