The Sport of Kings Side Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance (KCD)

“The Sport of Kings” is a thrilling side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance (KCD) that puts you in the saddle for the challenging Talmberg Race. This quest begins at the Neuhof stud farm, where Widow Zora is struggling to keep her business alive after a brutal raid. The attack, which claimed the life of her husband Smil, the chief groom, has led Sir Divish of Talmberg to stop buying horses from her. To help Zora recover her farm’s reputation, you’ll need to compete in and win the Talmberg Race.

Your main objective in this side quest is to finish first in the Talmberg Race. The reward for victory is the highly sought-after Knightrider Trophy. Success requires both strategic planning and skillful riding through four distinct legs of the race, each presenting unique challenges.

First Leg: Dead Tree near Uzhitz

The race kicks off near the “Dead Tree” in Uzhitz, located at the church in the town center. To gain an advantage, ensure you position yourself at the front before the race begins. This will give you a head start when the race officially starts. For a faster route, cut through the fields before reaching Uzhitz, but be prepared to maneuver carefully.

Second Leg: Mill near Merhojed

Next, you’ll ride to the mill southeast of Merhojed. This stage offers an opportunity to save precious time if you’re confident in your horse-jumping skills. You can head straight across fields after passing Talmberg, but beware of obstacles along the way that could slow you down or throw you off course.

Third Leg: Talmberg Quarry

The third checkpoint is located at the Talmberg quarry, northwest of Talmberg. Staying off the main roads and crossing fields can give you an edge in this segment, but you’ll need to deal with various fences that will require precise jumps. Choosing the right path here is essential to maintaining your lead.
