This walkthrough covers Alec’s Request in Crimson Desert, a Greymane faction commission that unlocks after finding Alec at the Goldleaf Trading Post and completing Brice’s Request. Starting the Quest
Find Alec in the Quest A Rumor at the Goldleaf Trading Post. Additionally, you have to complete Brice’s Request to build a wagon. Alec manages the camp’s forge.
Drawing upon his battlefield experience, he crafts practical, long-lasting equipment to serve all.

Quest description:
“Alec, the blacksmith, wanting to apologize for recently refusing Ronnie the cook’s request, has asked for a fresh fish so he could grill it himself.”
Talk to Alec
Alec has his smithy right next to the main tent in Howling Hill. Talk to him about his request. He wants you to catch a leopard perch.
Aquire a Leopard Perch
Of course, the Leopard Pearch can’t be right around the corner. The location is far, in the northeast. East of Hook Rapids.
I don’t like the fishing mechanics in Crimson Desert. So it took a while to understand how to catch a fish. There are different kinds of fish in this pond. It could be that you will first catch a normal perch before getting close to a Leopard Perch.
How to fish:
1. Equip the fishing rod. It’s not with the tools, it’s where to bow is.
2. Like with a bow: Aim and shoot. This time onto the water.
3. Wait until the fish bites, then use the “Hook” prompt.
4. First, you have to tire the fish. Don’t reel just yet. Move your pole in the opposite direction from where the fish is swimming. If it’s swimming to the left, pull the rod to the right and vice versa.
5. Reel-in: You will see that the pole won’t bend that much anymore. This is the time to reel in. But do it slowly, always checking if the pole does not bend and the fish is not fighting. Sometimes they start fighting again mid-reel, so you have to stop reeling and tire the fish again.
Where to Buy a Leopard Perch
If you don’t want to fish, Leopard Perches can also be bought at some fish shops. One of them is at the Grey Rock Dock Fishing Shop, north of where Alec is sending you to catch the fish.
Hand Over the Leopard Perch
Return to Alec and hand over the Leopard Perch.
