How to Start The Complete Set

Location: West Incursion Zone
Description: “Altered Speakers loose in Manhattan? This can’t be good.”

The Complete Set starts when you pick up either one of the notes or one of the speakers. One way to start it is to enter the Museum of Curiosities in the south of the West Incursion Zone and read the note at the reception desk. This note is one of 16 collectible documents in the Altered Speakers stack.

1 – Contain the Museum of Curiosities Speaker

Location: West Incursion Zone

Interact with the speaker at the back of the Museum of Curiosities and press the button to test it. The speaker goes wild inside the museum. Chase it, contain it and pick it up.

2 – Investigate the Auction House

Location: Downtown

The Auction House is in the northwest of Downtown, where Dense Patterning is occurring. Enter the building through the roof entrance and talk to the person downstairs. The speaker here instantly goes wild, so chase it down and contain it.

Once the speaker is subdued, look for a note near the person. It explains how to set up the speakers in the Auction House once you have the full set: 4 Speakers and 1 Subwoofer.

In the same area as the unresponsive person, pick up the recording next to the brown leather armchair. This is There’s People In There from the Altered Speakers collectibles. Listen to it to get three new mission markers that carry the story forward.

3 – Ask Langston About the Confiscated Subwoofer

Location: Central

Find Langston at the Field Panopticon in the Central Field Office and ask him about the subwoofer. He gives you the keycard for the Oldest House storage room.

Location: Downtown: Oldest House

Travel to the Oldest House: Central Executive and take the elevator to Executive Research. The storage room there is labelled SR. Pick up the subwoofer inside, defeat the Hiss that appear, then chase the subwoofer and contain it.

4 – Investigate the Collector’s Apartment

Location: Central

The Collector’s Apartment building is in the southwest of Central. To reach it, take the patterned road west of the Central Field Office, near the West Incursion Zone Checkpoint.

Enter the Collector’s Apartment and listen to the message on the answering machine. This is Pete, Nina and Lester from the Altered Speakers collectibles.

The next speaker is right by the dumpster across the road. Interact with it and chase it into the construction site, where you can contain it and pick it up.

5 – Investigate the Auction Buyer’s Apartment

Location: Central

The Auction Buyer’s Apartment is on the other side of the Collector’s Apartment, east of the Central Field Office.

Enter the apartment and read the note right by the door. This is the Exchange Location Note from the Altered Speakers collectibles, and it sends you to a nearby coffee shop for the speaker exchange.

Head to the coffee shop, wait for the speaker to stop moving, then contain it and pick it up. That is your fourth and final speaker.

6 – Take the Speakers and Subwoofer Back to the Auction House

Location: Downtown

Return to the Auction House and set up the speakers and the subwoofer as the note describes.

Place one speaker on the pile of glass boxes at the bottom of the stairs and another on the rock stack on the stage.

Upstairs, place the third speaker on the wooden bench and the fourth on the blue tarp.

Finally, place the subwoofer on the cleaning pit near the person in the Auction House. This starts up the set, so turn off all four speakers as quickly as you can. Then talk to the incapacitated person, who asks you to “turn it off”. Now you choose: turn the subwoofer off to close the gate, which kills the person, or turn it up to open the gate and save them.

Rewards

The side story is complete and you receive an Artifact.
