Start-Up Stopped Mission Overview
Mission type: Miscellaneous Mission in Cydonia
Quest giver: Jane Weller at Jane’s Goods, Residential District of Cydonia, Mars
Location: Cydonia on Mars and the Berry Mule in orbit around Triton, Neptune, Sol system
Rewards: 100 XP and credits that scale with your level, but only about 1,000 credits if Ecliptic keeps the ship
Can you recruit Erick: Yes, but only if you let Ecliptic keep the Berry Mule
Quest chain: Standalone side quest
Prepare before you board. Gustavo starts talking the moment you step inside, so use anything that boosts persuasion on your own ship first.
Saving the ship pays Jane’s full reward, but only letting Ecliptic keep it frees Erick to join your crew. You also lose the option to buy Jane’s Riot Shotgun that way.
1 – Find the Berry Mule
Mission Text:
“Jane’s ship, the Berry Mule, and its pilot, Erick have gone missing. She has asked me to search their last known location, around Triton.
Fly to Triton. It’s the moon around Neptune in the Sol System. Look for the mission marker in Triton’s orbit. There is an “Unknown Location” – the ship. Travel to it.
2 – Hail the Berry Mule
Mission Text:
“I’ve found the Berry Mule. I should try hailing it to see if I get a response.”
At the location, hail the Berry Mule. Speak to the Captain and dock.
At the location, hail the Berry Mule. Captain Gustavo Valencia of the Ecliptic answers. Ask to settle it peacefully and he lets you dock.
3 – Speak with the Mercenary Leader
Mission Text:
“Erick appears to be held captive. I should negotiate with Gustavo for his release and control the ship.”
As soon as you board, Gustavo, the mercenary will talk to you. You can either persuade him, keep the ship and let Erick go or attack.
As soon as you board, Gustavo, the mercenary, will talk to you. He was hired to bring the ship back to its rightful owner, so Jane bought a stolen ship. You have three options:
Persuade him: He tells his employer the ship was destroyed, and Jane gets both the ship and Erick back.
Let him keep the ship: He releases Erick. Jane pays less, but this is the only way to recruit Erick later.
Attack: There are six Ecliptic mercenaries. Erick is essential, so he cannot die in the fight.
5 – Return to Jane
Mission Text:
I’ve dealt with the situation as best I could. Now it’s time to return to Jane and inform her about what happened.”
Go back to Jane on Cydonia, Mars and explain to her what happened. This concludes the mission.
If Ecliptic kept the ship, Erick waits by your ship or at Jane’s Goods afterwards. Talk to him to recruit him. If he is not there, wait a day at Jane’s Goods. His crew skills are Payload and Astrodynamics.
