Maintaining the Edge is the Ryujin Industries mission that follows Accidents Happen, and it puts you aboard the Trident Luxury Lines Staryard to steal a prototype engine schematic. Imogene wants it obtained quietly, and staying hidden is what decides how many credits you walk away with. This step-by-step walkthrough covers the trip to the Cheyenne System, docking at the staryard, both Novice locks between you and the schematic, the vent shortcut, and the hand-off back at Ryujin Tower.

How to Start the Mission
After planting the ARC device over at HopeTech in Accidents Happen, Imogene at Ryujin Tower in Neon has your next assignment ready.
Prerequisite: you need to have completed Accidents Happen. The mission starts automatically the moment that one wraps up, so you usually go straight into the briefing. If you left Neon in between, head back to Imogene on the Operations floor of Ryujin Tower to pick it up.
Bring digipicks. There are two Novice locks on the way to the schematic, and a third Expert lock if you take the vent route.
1 – Travel to Trident Luxury Lines Staryard
Mission Text:
“I need to travel to Trident Luxury Lines Staryard orbiting Arkila in the Cheyenne System in order to obtain the prototype schematic.”
Travel to the Cheyenne System. On the star map it sits to the northwest of Neon, and the staryard orbits the planet Akila, the same planet as Akila City. Fly to within 500m of the staryard before the dock prompt appears, then dock and step inside.
2 – Obtain the Schematic
Mission Text:
“I’ve been tasked with obtaining a prototype schematic at Trident Luxury Lines Staryard. Ideally, I need to find a way to get in without getting caught.”
Nobody is hostile when you arrive, so you can walk the staryard freely. The theft itself is the only part that has to be done unseen.
From the entrance hall, take the staircase down to the office space below. The door you want has a Novice lock on it.
Crouch and wait until the “Hidden” prompt shows before you start picking. If a guard or worker is watching when the door opens, you get arrested on the spot.
NPCs freeze while the digipick minigame is on screen, so once the lock is open you have a moment to slip inside. Close the door behind you and shut the window blinds so nobody can see in.
Quicksave here. If something goes wrong at the chest you can reload without picking the door again. The chest inside carries a second Novice lock. Make sure you still have the “Hidden” prompt, open it and take the Prototype Schematic, then leave the way you came.
Short on digipicks? There is a spare one in the small server room just off this office area.
Alternative – The Vent Route
If you would rather skip the patrolling guard entirely, there is a second way in.
In the first room after docking, look for the orange door behind the second guard. Behind it is a vent with an Expert lock.
Open the vent and drop down the shaft. You land in front of a grate that looks directly at the chest, and you can pick the chest through it without ever entering the room.
The chest is still only a Novice lock. Grab the schematic and climb back out the same way.
This route costs more digipicks and needs Security rank 3 for the Expert lock, so it is the better option only if your Security skill is already levelled.
Optional detail for completionists: Gladys Coffin, the designer of the schematic, stands in the office area right outside the room. You can talk to her before or after the theft.
3 – Return to Imogene at Ryujin Tower
Mission Text:
“I obtained the prototype schematic at Trident Luxury Lines Staryard. I need to return to Imogene at her office in Ryujin Tower to hand it over.”
Return to Imogene at Ryujin Tower on Neon. She’s on the “Operations” floor.
Hand over the schematic and she explains the plan: Ryujin R&D will reverse engineer the engine and get it to market before Trident does. She then passes it on to Veena Kalra. You also get a security clearance upgrade that opens the Executive floor, because Ularu Chen wants to meet you. That leads straight into the next mission: Top Secrets.

The credit payout is performance based. Get through the staryard without being spotted and without hurting anyone and you receive the full amount. Every setback shaves credits off the total.
What Happens If You Get Caught
Getting spotted does not fail the mission, but it turns a quiet job into a firefight.
If a guard sees you at the door, at the chest, or holding the schematic, security turns hostile and the staryard has more turrets than you would expect. You can still fight your way out and complete the mission, but Imogene pays you less for it.
The cleanest fix is the quicksave before the chest. Reload and wait for the patrol to look away.
