The Quest for Courage Walkthrough – Sparks of Hope

Start the Quest

The Quest for Courage is a Spark Quest inside Mt. Spout. It’s located at the very top of the mountain, and completing it successfully adds Toxicomet to your team.

Remove the Darkmess Thorn

This part is straightforward. Use the WAVE power on the large purple Thorn Tile until the thorn disappears. Doing so opens a passage you’ll need to pass through to continue.

Reach Alkementor’s Laboratory

To start brewing, you first need to grow a bridge at the far left of the screen. Once it’s in place, head down and clear the Darkmess out of the cauldron to unlock the brewing sequence.

How to Prepare the Potion

This is the part most players get stuck on, so here’s the exact sequence. A board at the back of the lab shows which flame the cauldron needs to be on before a given stone can go in, and which flame each stone hates. If a stone is already in the cauldron and you rotate to a flame it hates, the brew resets and you have to start over.

First Brewing:
set the cauldron to the green bolt and throw in the green stone. Rotate right to the blue flame and throw in the blue stone.

Second Brewing:
leave the cauldron on the blue flame and throw in the blue stone. Rotate right to the purple moon and throw in the purple stone. Do not rotate left, since the blue stone hates the green flame and the brew will reset.

Third Brewing:
set the cauldron to the yellow flame, the square symbol, and throw in the yellow stone. Rotate right to the purple moon and throw in the purple stone. Rotate right again to the green bolt and throw in the green stone.

Once the third brewing is complete, the Quest for Courage is finished. Toxicomet joins your team, and you unlock a new memory, the Alkementor.
