Finally, after five years we get to play the successor of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (2017) and yes… Ubisoft Milan and Paris delivered a well designed and fun turn-based strategy Action-adventure.
This time, you get to travel to five planets full with “Darkmess”, black goo spread by this game’s nemesis: Cursa and new friends join the fight, each with unique abilities. And I’m not only writing about the Sparks here – which are super cute and helpful!
With two story quests on each planet, I first was a bit concerned that the game would be a bit too short story-wise, but as you arrive on Cursa’s Planet at the end (the sixth planet but not accessible after you’ve been on it), the length of the story just feels right!

Besides, there is so much left to do, that you won’t be disappointed. Each planet has between 20 and 30 side quests and puzzles to solve and most of them are fun and amusing to do. I write “most” since the fights, where you just have to clean an Darkmess Puddles on the planet to remove it as Side Quest, could be a bit of a drag towards the end. But it just needs to be done to help the Kingdom!

I thoroughly enjoyed playing and documenting MARIO AND RABIDS: SPARKS OF HOPE! The characters are cute, fun and helpful. I really loved that they dedicated some of the Side Quests to group the characters up to introduce story depth! But please Ubisoft: Not another 5 years wait! I’m getting old! 😉
