In The Jaunt, Henry sets out on a mission to locate the blacksmith’s cart and his two helpers, Ventza and Franzi. They were tasked with delivering goods to Semine but never returned. Here’s the full quest walkthrough.
1 – Accept the “The Jaunt” Side Quest
In “The Blacksmith’s Son”, Henry starts working as a blacksmith’s assistant. However, he soon gets bored and asks the blacksmith for another task. The blacksmith explains that two of his workers, Ventza and Franzi, went to Semine for delivery but never returned with the cart. Henry decides to go look for them.
2 – Head to Semine
The two hands were taken to Semine, so Henry should start his search there. Semine is a town in the southwest of Troskowitz. Head to the mansion, where a party appears to be taking place in the inner courtyard.
3 – Defeat Jurko in a Fight
During a cutscene, one person stands out: Jurko. He’s rude to others and demands Henry fetch him more wine. When Henry explains he’s not from the area, Jurko starts a fight. Henry is forced to defeat him in a fistfight.
After Henry wins the fight, the captain of the guard, Gnarly, steps in and asks who he is. When Henry explains that the blacksmith sent him, Gnarly takes him straight to Lord Semine. Lord Semine is initially pleased, thinking Henry has arrived with the delivery. However, it quickly becomes clear that they need to track down Ventza, Franzi, and the missing goods.
4 – Meet Gnarly and Lord Semine in the Courtyard
Gnarly isn’t willing to lend Henry a horse but suggests he buy one at a discount from the nearby stables. Since I don’t have the money yet, I decided to go on foot with them.
5 – Follow Lord Semine and Gnarly
Lord Semine and Gnarly will be on horseback, while Henry will follow on foot if he doesn’t have a horse. When prompted to “Follow” someone, activate it to automatically stay with them. This allows you to focus on the conversation, as some require Henry to respond.
During the trip, Gnarly informs Lord Semine about the fight in the courtyard and mentions that Henry performed well. In response, Lord Semine challenges Henry to a duel. You can choose to Accept, Provoke, or Refuse the challenge. If you accept, the group will pause halfway to Troskowitz to hold the duel.
6 – Duel with Lord Semine
Talk to Gnarly first. He will give you a weapon in case you don’t have one. Unskilled, the duel will end up quite quickly, since at the start of the game the stamina and strength is quite low.
At the end of the fight, you can wash yourself if you like and continue on to Troskowitz.
7 – Talk to the Bailiff
When the group reaches Troskowitz, they stop at the bailiff’s office. Lord Semine asks Henry to speak with the bailiff about the cart, Ventza, and Franzi, but instructs him not to mention his name. The bailiff can either be found in his office or sitting outside. He tells Henry that the cart was moving very quickly, just passing through Troskowitz while dropping charcoal bags because of its speed.
Go back to Gnarly and Lord Semine, share the news with them, and continue following them on foot.
8 – Investigate the Area of the Crossroads by the Cemetary
The group will stop at a crossroads, unsure of which path to take. Henry should head west, where he’ll find a bag of charcoal lying in the middle of the street. Check the bag to continue the story.

The group continues along the path until they reach another crossroads. They find it strange that there are no more cart tracks visible.
9 – Investigate the Area of the Crossroads by Apollonia
The crossroads are located at the Apollonia Fast Travel point on the map. From there, head north to find the cart, partially hidden behind a bush. However, the goods are missing.
Go back to Lord Semine to report about the cart, then follow them to locate Ventza and Franzi.
10 – Follow Lord Semine and Gnarly and Keep your Eyes Peeled
The task says to “keep your eyes peeled” for a reason. Follow Gnarly and Lord Semine and look out for a prompt called “Draw Attention.” After that, they will all listen and hear people talking in a nearby camp.
11 – Go Scouting
Lord Semine and Gnarly send Henry out to “Go Scouting”. Head the path back until you can walk up the mountain to the right, where you can look down into the camp. Here you get a prompt to “Investigate”. Then return to the two to tell them the news.
12 – Attack the Patrol
I assume that there are some different ways to attack the patrol. I decided to attack them from the top. Gnarly hands over his crossbow and some bolts. Make sure to equip the crossbow and the bolts to be able to fire at the enemies.

After winning the fight, you can search the bodies for loot. You’ll also find a key to unlock the nearby chests. Talk to Gnarly when ready to move on.
13 – Attack the Camp
During the cutscene, you automatically move over to attack the bandit camp, where Franzi is tied up and Ventza is running away. After the fight, Lord Semine orders Henry to go after Ventza.
14 – Catch the Hired Hand
Finding Ventza, the Hired hand is key and can be quite tricky. If you search too far, Ventza will get away and with him one of the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s treasure maps. To catch the hired hand Ventza, go into the direction the tied-up Franzi (brown hat, white shirt) is looking at.
Stay close to the right-hand wall until you reach a point where you can head upward to the right.
Go to the top to find Ventza. You can choose to either let him go or fight him. Make sure to take “Hired Hand Ventza’s Map” to locate a nearby treasure. This guide will show you exactly where to find it.
15 – Go Back to Lord Semine
Return to Lord Semine. Decide if you want to return with him or stay behind and find your own way.
16 – Return to the Blacksmith
Report back to the blacksmith. This will start the follow-up quest: The Hermit.
