Star Wars Outlaws Break Into the Vault – Outlaws Quest Guide

Outlaws is the second main quest in Star Wars Outlaws, and the job is to break into a mansion vault on Cantonica with a new crew. This guide takes you from the Broken Hoof to the vault door, past every camera and guard, and out through the hangar.

Main Quest: Outlaws
Location: The Broken Hoof, Canto Bight, Cantonica

Mission Objective:
“Bram has a lead on a job with a new crew. It’s high-risk but the job will get Kay enough money to get off-world. Considering Sixth Kin are looking for her, it seems like the only option left.”

Outlaws starts right after Beginnings, once Bram hands Kay the job. Kay steps out of the cantina into streets full of enemies looking for her, so the first goal is to reach the new crew without being caught.

Location: Worker’s District, Canto Bight

Kay starts hidden outside the cantina with enemies watching the main road. Stay off the road and sneak left into the Worker’s District alley.

The alley has no enemies and only one path. Follow it to a dumpster with a makeshift platform next to a wall. Use the yellow climbing bars on the wall to get up onto the roof.

Follow the only route across the rooftops. Swing across with the grappling hook at the hook points above you, then drop down into an alley on the other side after the first swing.

Keep going until you see a civilian repairing the engines of a crashed ship. They ignore you, and walking past triggers the cutscene where Kay meets her new crew.

Location: Cliffs below the mansion, Cantonica

Dennion, a human with short white hair, leads the two other crew members. The crew has a password override for a vault inside a large mansion, and they drop Kay off at the cliffs close to it.

Go straight ahead from the drop-off and through a gap in the rock wall. Out in nature, climbable spots are marked in white instead of yellow.

Before the climb, the game introduces abilities you learn from Experts across the galaxy. Bram is one of them: Cantina Brawling and Lockpicking are already unlocked, and four more open up by using certain abilities while you play.

Climb, swing and jump along the white markings until you reach the mansion. Climb the tower Kay mentions in her talk with Dennion to reach a large patio.

The mansion entrance is up a brightly lit staircase, and the yellow mission marker on your HUD points the way. Hide in the tall grass to avoid the guards. You can whistle to lure a guard to you while you hide in the grass or behind a corner, then take him down when he gets close.

Location: Inside the mansion

How to Turn Off the Red Force Field

From the patio you enter a small library with a locked door. Pick it with the data spike to reach a lounge connected to an office. A red force field blocks the way, so find the lever and pull it to shut the force field down.

With the force field gone, you can look around the meeting room from the opening of the game. Inspect the blast marks on the walls, and Kay starts wondering what happened here.

A security camera watches the corridor ahead. Watch how it moves and slip past when it looks away.

Next is a big staircase with two guards talking in the middle. One walks up the stairs and the other stays. Use the vent at the bottom of the staircase to sneak past.

Courseweave for the Armored Undershirt

The vent ends at stairs up to a kitchen with a seating area and a bar. Pick the locked door with the data spike. A guard is in the kitchen and another one watches the seating area. Look for valuables and ingredients here: the Armored Undershirt skill from Bram needs 8 Courseweave, so pick up any you find in the mansion.

Go to the back of the restaurant into the storage room and hold down the lever there. When you are done looting, head into the corridor. A security camera with a small field of view blocks the way, so turn it off with the switch on the wall.

This corridor leads back to the big staircase, where a guard patrols. Wait at the corner, whistle to lure him over and take him down silently.

How to Get Past the Vault Camera With Nix

A stationary camera watches the corridor to the vault elevator, and there is no way around it. Send Nix to the camera core to distract it and turn it away from your path. Steer it toward the back of its cone, slightly angled to the balcony railing, so you can hug the wall and walk past.

Turn Off the Alarm in the Security Office

Take the elevator at the end of the corridor down to the vault. When the doors open, the guards are alerted and the alarm goes off. Take down the guard next to the elevator, then go left into the next corridor. Pick the lock on the security office door, take out the guard inside and turn off the alarm.

Vault Code for the Gatekeeper Droid

Walk up to the huge vault door to start a cutscene. The Gatekeeper Droid asks for a password, so Kay calls Dennion, who gives her the code “grandio cha”. Once Kay says it, the droid opens the vault.

Location: Vault

Use the central console to open the inner vault door. Instead of treasure, the vault holds Asara, an imprisoned Twi’lek. Dennion and the crew show up, admit there never was any treasure and reveal they are with the Rebel Alliance and came to free one of their own. Kay draws her blaster to get paid, but Dennion knocks her out.

A flashback shows young Kay with Riko on a busy street in Canto Bight. Riko gives her a coin for luck, but Kay runs into guards, drops the coin and runs away. Back at the Broken Hoof, Riko waits with Bram and is proud of what Kay learned.

Kay wakes up in the vault without the crew. Sliro, from the opening of the game, stands over her with two guards and takes her for one of the rebels. Kay offers to help him find them, then Nix attacks Sliro, Kay knocks out a guard with his own blaster, and they escape through the vault door. Kay shoots the controls to seal it behind them.

Location: Mansion vents and hangar

Head back to the closed elevator near the vault and deal with the guards there. Leave through the only open door, the one a guard came in through, and follow the corridor to the back. The only open door there leads to a small control room with a floor hatch. Open it and climb down.

Follow the shaft to another vent cover and open it. You end up in a large ventilation section with a big propeller at each end. Scan the area with Nix to find the power core of one propeller and shut it down. Once the propeller stops, you can get through, and the next section has a square vent that leads to the hangar.

Get Through the Hangar

The hangar is full of guards. Scan it with Nix to find the explosives you can set off quietly, and trigger them when guards are close by to clear a path to the ship. If you prefer, you can sneak past the guards instead.

After a cutscene, you briefly fly the ship. Kay sets a course for Toshara and jumps to hyperspace, but the ship crash-lands on Toshara. Kay and Nix get out safely and find a mechanic under attack, which leads straight into the next main quest, Crashed.
