Crimson Desert: The Calling Questline Walkthrough

#1 – An Unknown Voice

An Unknown Voice is the first quest of Chapter 9: The Calling questline. It follows after having defeated Bastier and liberated Demeniss city in Traitor.

Description:
“Though your senses remain dull, you have regained consciousness thanks to the shais. An unfamiliar voice calls out during an untimely silence, inviting you to find it should you seek more power.”

Speak with the Witch

Return to the bamboo forest near Shipwreck Shore, where you met the two witches in Chapter 8.

Find the Trials

They will take you away to a cave near the Crimson Wall in the north of Demeniss City. Enter the cave and exit to the other side.

Follow the path to the north, through a cave, where you will be attacked by bounty hunters. After the fight, look at the memory: Dead Tree here in the pond (lantern is glowing). Keep following the winding path to the north, where you will find your destination inside a cave – and an Abyss Nexus on top of the mountain.

#2 – Cloister of Enlightenment

Description:
“Inside the temple, you found a giant statue at the end of a long stairway. The golden surface, which should have been radiant, was losing its light from being corrupted.”

Purify the Golden Statues

The statues in the cave are covered in bismuth. To do this, pay close attention to the target X on the minimap. You need to hang onto the statue, enter focus, and then do the facepalm in the center of the statue’s chest.

Four stone tablets will be revealed at the base of the statues, and you must examine them. They will unlock four pieces of knowledge:
-> Master Du’s Training: Insight
-> Master Du’s Training: Abyss
-> Master Du’s Training: Jijeong Temple
-> Master Du’s Training: Urdavah

These will unlock four more Chapter 9 questlines and complete The Calling:
-> Shattered Ties
-> Thinning Blade
-> Six Statues and the Beast
-> Veiled Witch

Master Du’s Training: Insight

“Bear within you the purpose to mend the balance that falters. True enlightenment shall begin when the sanctum’s order is restored.”

Master Du’s Training: Abyss

“There are things that grow stronger the more they are worn and weathered.
Enlightenment shall begin where the swords of past and present cross.”

Master Du’s Training: Jijeong Temple

“Learn the way of looking within.
Enlightenment shall begin upon the southern peak, where the morning mist rises.”

Master Du’s Training: Veiled Witch

“Lend your ear to the cries of suffering.
Enlightenment shall begin beyond the sea of crimson sands in the north, where severed bonds will born.”

Before Leaving

Take your time to look around in the upper chambers of the temple. There you can find:
