Crimson Desert: Tales of the Calphadean Merchants Quests

How to Get the Questline

To receive the Tales of the Calphadean Merchants questline in the Hernand Commissions, you first have to advance in the story quest until you have liberated the Calphadean Territory in Chapter 6: Cracks in the Shield.

There are seven Calphadean merchants who need your help. Some of them just appear on the map and can be easily found under “quests” on the world map. Others have their poster on the Notice Board.

Peregrine’s Request

Description:
“Peregrine, the provisioner, has requested to deliver bread to the church.”

Peregrine has his Provisioner’s Shop in Thalwynd. Talk to him to listen to his request.

He wants you to deliver 10x bread to the Priest at the Church of Calphade, just north of Thalwynd. Hand over the bread to complete the quest.

Reward:
1x Medium Bag
2x Barley

Temir’s Request

Description:
“Temir needs timber to fix his worn display stand.”

Temir is at the Calphade Equipment Shop in Thalwynd. Talk to him to listen to his request.

He needs fine timber. If you don’t have any in your inventory, head out and cut some trees with the axe he’s given you or with your own. Return to him and hand over 5x fine timber to complete this quest.

Haverson’s Request

Description:
“Haverson from Calphade Village wants to learn why the bakery isn’t buying his wheat.”

Haverson has his Wholesale Grocer’s Shop at the Calphade Farmhouse, north of Calphade Castle. Ask him about his request to start. He’s wondering why the nearby bakery is not using his wheat, and he wants you to find out.

Haverson will also give you Haverson’s Note:
“The baker should be at the bakery. Please get him to tell you straight why he’s not using our shop’s wheat.”

The bakery is just north of the Church of Calphade. The baker doesn’t seem to be here, but there is a Baker’s Note on the table:
“I’m heading to the Church of Calphade to donate leftover bread. If you need me, come there.”

The baker should be at the church south of the bakery. But when you arrive, there is no baker here. Instead, talk to the Aspirant, and he will give you the Church Note:
“The baker said he went to the market to buy ingredients. If you need him, head over there. He’s broad-shouldered and wears a green hat.”

Since the Church Note mentioned that the baker is now at the market, let’s head there. The market is just a couple of steps to the south. All you need to do is find someone with a green Santa hat. Talk to this man to find out why he’s not using Haverson’s wheat.

Return to Haverson’s Assistant to report. He’s working in the field east of Haverson’s shop.

Driana’s Request

Dirana’s Request can be started by reading Driana’s Poster on the Notice Board.

The poster reads:
“Help making new saddles.
A saddle isn’t just something that goes on your horse, it’s an important piece of equipment that accompanies our soldiers throughout their days and battles. I need someone to speak with the soldiers and survey what kind of tack they prefer. If you’re interested, come by the Calphade Saddlery for the details.
Driana, the Saddler of Calphade”

Driana runs the local saddlery in the north of Calphade. Listen to her request to start. She will give you Driana’s Note. Read it to continue:
“Go to the nearest watchtower and talk to the soldiers.
After the war, they’re going to need a lot of saddles. Find out what kind they want.”

The nearest watchtower is northwest of her location. Talk to the soldier there. You will receive the Watchtower Note. Open your inventory and read it:
“Go find the quartermaster at the north gate.
He’s been having a rough time with shortages since the war. He specifically mentioned they’re short on saddles.
If you see a soldier sorting supplies, that’ll be him.”

The next destination is the north gate – just follow the main road to the northeast and talk to the soldier there. You may have to start the questline Pailune Militia -> Dark Shadow Engulfing the Fort first before talking to the Soldier. The man on the floor is from the Pailune Militia and will trigger the Shadows of Beasts quest.

Meet Driana’s Assistant east of the northern gate by the river to complete the quest.

Galen’s Request

Galen’s Request can be started by reading Galen’s Poster on the Notice Board.

The poster reads:
“Looking for someone to deliver leather.
It’s a simple job of carrying goods over short distances. I’d prefer someone who will see the task through to the end with diligence. If you’re interested, please visit the Calphade tannery.
Gloin, the Tanner of Calphade”

Galen is the local tanner. His shop is just south of Thalwynd.

Deliver Galen’s five leader hides to the Calphade Southern Depot just east of the tannery and south of the castle. Hand over the leader from Galen and receive 5 thin leaders. Return those to Galen to complete the quest.

Matilde’s Request

Matilde’s Request can be started by reading Matilda’s Poster on the Notice Board.

The poster reads:
“Lately, unpleasant rumors have been spreading among our guests about the inn. To put these rumors to rest, we need someone to retrieve a certain object for us. If you’re interested, please come to the Calphade Inn.
Matilde, the Innkeeper of Calphade”

Matilde is the Innkeeper at Thalwynd. Talk to her to hear her request.

Matilde needs 1x Holy Water. If you don’t have it, you can buy it inside the Calphade Church just north of the Inn. Give it to her to complete the quest.

Adrina’s Request

Description:
“Adrina is thinking of ways to show off her outfits in style.”

Adrina has her Tailor’s Shop at the Thalwynd market. Ask her about the request to start. She needs mannequins: the scarecrows in the field. She will hand you Adrina’s Note. Open your inventory and read it:
“The carpenter should be at the woodworking shop. Ask if they’ve got any scarecrows left. The shop’s in the village near the entrance to Calphede Castle.”

She now wants you to go to the carpenter for the scarecrows. He should be north of the castle entrance. There is only a Carpenter’s Note on the table:
“Stepping out for a bit. If you need me, come to the Calphade Castle’s training field.”

The Calphade Castle’s training field is inside Calphade Castle. Talk to the soldier there to receive the Training Field Note:
The carpenter said he went to the logging camp to pick up wood.
You can see the logging camp as soon as you get to the castle gate, so head over there.
He’s wearing a straw hat and white clothes.

The carpenter is at the logging camp, wearing a straw hat and white clothes. Find him! He will send the training dummy to the shop. Return to Adrina to give her the good news.
