In Crimson Desert, Balder’s Request is a Greymane faction quest that becomes available after completing A Rumor at Hook Rapids. The quest starts at Howling Hill and tasks you with delivering a symbolic gift meant to teach protection.
This walkthrough explains where to find Balder, how to deliver the Bekker Large Shield to Grey Rock Dock in Demeniss, and the requirement to liberate the village through The Hunter’s Path before you can complete the objective. It also covers how to return to Balder and claim your reward.

Starting the Quest
This quest will be available at Howling Hill after finding a group of Greymanes in the quest Rumor at Hook Rapids, where you will find Balder and Ryan.

Quest description:
“Balder requested some gifts for the children he taught, which are meant to convey the meaning of protecting others.”
Talk to Balder
Balder is near the western Howling Hill bonfire.
Deliver the Bekker Large Shield
Balder wants you to deliver the Bekker Large Shield to the children “at the village”. It’s far in the northwest from Hernand, even further northeast from where you found Balder in Rumor at Hook Rapids. There are some ruins along the way with a fast-travel platform.
The location to deliver the Bekker Large Shield is the cute village of Grey Rock Dock on the Denn River in Demeniss. It is occupied by the Wolf Trackers and needs to be liberated (The Hunter’s Path quest) before Balder’s Request can be completed.
There is a stranger at the top of the village who will take the shield.
Deliver the Thanks
Return to Howling Hill and deliver the thanks to Balder.
