How to Reach Sweetlopek’s Workshop

The entrance to Sweetlopek’s hilly area is southeast of the spaceship, where the small lake appears on the map. Use your Scan Ability to build a bridge across the water, then head up to the Workshop and speak to Sweetlopek. He’ll tell you his hatchet was stolen and ask you to track it down.

Join Vampastra in Paletteville

Vampastra the Spark is waiting in front of the highest house in Paletteville. Talk to the house owner there – he points you toward “the other” Pumpkin House. There are two Pumpkin Houses in town; the one you want is not the one across the water. Don’t be fooled by the similarity.

Investigate the Pumpkin House

The correct Pumpkin House is lower down in Paletteville, closer to the water, with pumpkins visible in front of it. Head inside and speak to the owner to get your next lead.

Track Down “The Songbird”

Your next stop is a house near the first one you visited – check the map screenshot in this guide for the exact position. Go inside and read the diary you find there. It points you toward another character called “The Fork.”

Track Down “The Fork”

The Fork lives in the house right next door. Enter it and read the notes inside – but they don’t give you everything you need. You have to find him in person.

He’s waiting further up the path that leads from Paletteville toward the waterside.

Find the Magic Wetstone

Follow Vampastra down the path toward the Darkmess Barrier. This barrier requires the green square key. Circle all the way around the large creature head structure beside the barrier – the green square key is on the other side. Insert it into the device to remove the barrier.

Use your Scanner at the revealed location to uncover the Magic Whetstone.

Take the Whetstone to “The Fork”

Bring the Magic Whetstone back to The Fork where you found him on the path above Paletteville. He’ll use it to reveal the identity of the thief.

Expose the Culprit

The culprit is at the very first house you visited during this quest – Hinky’s house. Talk to Hinky outside, then enter. Win the fight against the Puddle enemy inside to complete the quest. Vampastra joins your team as your reward.

The follow-up quest is A Dryad’s Dream, where Sweetlopek heads into the forest.
