Nehal’s Calling – How to Find the Secret Chamber

After Al-Ghul is assassinated, Basim spots Nehal in the crowd. The Nehal investigation starts with a question mark in the centre and the My Old Home case to track. Once you finish it, Nehal’s Calling is revealed.

My Old Home – Back to Anbar

Travel all the way back to where the adventure started, your old hideout in Anbar in the far northwest of the map. On the map, this tracker is called Old Wounds. As soon as you enter the hideout, a cutscene takes over.

Afterwards, report back to Roshan at the Harbiyah Bureau. In the conversation, you learn that there is a Head of the Order in Baghdad, and Ra’s al-Af’a shows up in the Investigation Menu for the first time, connected to Al-Ghul.

Nehal’s Calling – Oasis North of the Aqarquf Dunes

There are 5 clues in Nehal’s Calling. Nehal mentions the shards, so you can start hunting them right away, and she gives you a note about an oasis north of the Aqarquf Dunes.

Travel to the Northern Oasis in the Wilderness. It is the only place there with a lake.

Secret Entrance at the Northern Oasis

At the oasis, look for clues. A note from Al-Ghul reveals that the Order is spreading Shards among its members. Send up your eagle and focus on the round yellow circle. This gives you the clue that the Order is trying to reach a chamber under the oasis and reveals the Secret Entrance.

The Secret Entrance is in the lake, so you have to dive down. Follow the light and the loot, and you soon come up inside a cave.

Cave Route to the Secret Chamber

Follow the cave until you reach another area with water. No need to get wet again. Instead, follow the black climbing markings up and jump to the cavern on the other side. These markings used to be white and are now black. Keep following them through a corridor with cobwebs.

Next, you enter a part of the cave with a stone structure. Go deeper and you discover the secret chamber with three altars. The triangle markings on each altar show how many Mysterious Shards it needs, and each altar unlocks one Gear Chest. To reveal the chamber’s secrets, you need all 10 Mysterious Shards.

How to Get Mysterious Shards

The Mysterious Shards are carried by Order members in black robes, two in every district of Baghdad and two in the Wilderness. You can steal the shard or take it from their body.

Send up your eagle often near the locations below. As soon as you spot a shard carrier, a gold shard icon appears on your map and your HUD.

The shard carriers walk around in circles inside a restricted area, so the maps only show their rough location. They attack if you get too close and they spot you. A well-timed Smoke Bomb makes the steal much easier.

Abbasiyah Mysterious Shards

1 – Scriptorium Shard

Look for a female Order member walking around the Scriptorium in Abbasiyah. The gold shard icon on the map shows her area, and you can pickpocket the shard from her.

2 – Scholar’s Estate Shard

A woman with a single guard walks around near the Scholar’s Estate. Pickpocket the shard from her.

Harbiyah Mysterious Shards

Both Harbiyah shards are also part of the Harbiyah All Collectibles guide.

3 – Soap Boiler’s District Shard

The shard carrier in the Soap Boiler’s District is a woman who can attack you when she spots you. Take her down and loot the Mysterious Shard from her body.

4 – Dyeing Factory Shard

This shard carrier walks around south of the Dyeing Factory and makes a stop at a hay cart. Steal the shard or take it from his body.

Karkh Mysterious Shards

While you are in Karkh, you can also grab the Karkh Gear Chests.

5 – Qasr Salih Shard

In the north of Karkh, a woman with a shard walks around near Qasr Salih at the Upper Harbor.

6 – The Bazaar Shard

This shard carrier walks between The Bazaar and the Gate of the Mills and is protected by a guard. Follow her until she takes a break at a hay cart, then use that hiding spot to get the shard.

Round City Mysterious Shards

7 – Harem Shard

A shard carrier walks around east of the Harem in the Round City. He is protected by two guards.

8 – Postal Bureau Shard

The last shard inside the city is carried by a man near the Postal Bureau.

Wilderness Mysterious Shards

9 – Anbar Shard

A man with a shard walks around the village of Anbar in the northwest, the same village you return to in My Old Home.

10 – Jarjaraya Shard

In Jarjaraya, a man with a shard walks around the village, guarded by two captains. Hide in the large bushes outside the village and steal the shard when he walks past.

Secret Chamber Rewards for the Mysterious Shards

Take your shards back to the secret chamber under the Northern Oasis. The three altars need 2, 3 and 5 Mysterious Shards, so all 10 shards unlock all three rewards.

Samsaama Dagger – Life Steal

Cost: 2 Mysterious Shards
Perk: Every fifth hit heals Basim for 10% of his health. The dagger comes fully upgraded.

Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar Sword – Blood Price

Cost: 3 Mysterious Shards
Perk: Your maximum health is lowered by 50%, but your damage increases by 50%.

Milad’s Outfit – Forgotten Terror

Cost: 5 Mysterious Shards
Perk: Successful air assassinations set off a flash of lightning that disorients bystanders within a 15m radius.
