1 – Where Is Shaded Grove Camp

Location: Shaded Grove Camp, far west of the Hometree
Quest Step: Ask the people at Shaded Grove Camp about Vu’an

The quest starts at the Aranahe Hometree. Talk to Neytu at the center of the Hometree on ground level. She is worried about the gatherer Vu’an, who hasn’t returned to the Hometree yet.

Shaded Grove Camp is quite far away from the Hometree, in the far west. The map below shows its location. Click to enlarge.

At the camp, look for a Na’vi called Lurei. She gives you a clue where to look next. You may find her playing the drums on the upper level of the camp.

2 – Locate Vu’an’s Gathering Spot at Wisdom Lake

Location: North shore of Wisdom Lake, north of Shaded Grove Camp

Lurei gives you three hints about Vu’an’s gathering spot. Vu’an likes to gather downhill from Shaded Grove Camp, and she was gathering herbs near Wisdom Lake. Since Vu’an couldn’t hear her music, Lurei also thinks she must be on the north shore. In the unguided mode you have to find the spot yourself, otherwise it is marked on the map.

Simply head north from Shaded Grove Camp. On the way, you can pick up the Ancestor Skill: Soft Landing.

3 – Gatherer Gone: Investigate the Gathering Spot

At the gathering spot, you have to find out what happened. Scan the site and 4 clues light up. Connect them into 2 pairs as shown below.

Pair 1: Dead Viperwolf – Slashed Herb Bag
The Dead Viperwolf is pinned onto a tree by arrows. Link it to the Slashed Herb Bag near the water at the center of the gathering spot.

Pair 2: Scattered Arrows – Broken Bow
A couple of arrows are stuck in the ground at the center of the gathering spot. Link them to the Broken Bow, which lies close to the Dead Viperwolf, just outside the gathering spot.

4 – Track the Scent of Herbs to Wildwood Den

Scan the area around the Dead Viperwolf and the Broken Bow to pick up the scent of the herbs. It shows up as a blue line leading north. Follow it and scan the area frequently until you find Vu’an.

Vu’an is hiding at Wildwood Den, in a small cave with a fire barrier at the entrance. She explains that an unnatural kind of Viperwolf has trapped her there. They are faster and meaner than normal Viperwolves, and you can’t track them because they have no scent.

5 – Clear the Area of Viperwolves and Get Your Rewards

Location: Wildwood Den
Quest Step: Clear the area of Viperwolves

There are three packs of Viperwolves in the area, each led by a pack leader. Finding them without a scent is tricky. Your best option is to scan the surroundings of the tree and the cave where Vu’an is trapped. You may spot the outline of a Viperwolf, but more likely they will attack you first.

Defeat all three packs and return to Vu’an to finish Gatherer Gone.
