How to Reach the Riddle

Here’s how to solve the Riddle of Palette Prime, hidden at the bottom of the abandoned well in Spellbound Woods. Climb all the way down to the bottom, where you’ll find a blue pipe. Go through it and you’ll come face to face with Prof. Backpack, who’s guarding the riddle.

What the Riddle Says

“The day began with a wooden bell, the silence broke as the lake’s song did swell.”
“The Red Thief arrived at dusk, looking for a trinket to pawn.”
“Night came. The Guardian did the same. While guarding the forest, my sleep it would claim.”

Riddle of Palette Prime Solution

The symbols on the riddle can be a little confusing at first glance: a sunrise (top), a sun (right), a crescent moon (bottom), and a full moon (left). The crescent moon is the easiest to place since it clearly represents dusk, while the full moon points to night, so start with those two as they’re the least ambiguous.

The Red Thief is the Fox – place it on the crescent moon (bottom). The Owl is the Guardian of the night – place it on the full moon (left).

The other two clues take a little more thought, but thinking about what a lake sounds like early in the morning helps: the Wooden Bell is the Bird (likely a woodpecker) – place it on the sunrise (top). The Lake’s Song is the Duck – place it on the sun (right).
