The Main Quest: The Mechanic continues the storyline from Intel: The Speeder Mechanic, as Kay locates Selo Rovak, who will need an Atmospheric Accelerator to upgrade Kay’s speeder. In the Outlaws main quest, exploring these upgrades plays a crucial role in advancing your journey. Here’s what to do to finally get access to speeder upgrades. To begin, assist Selo Rovak by retrieving the Atmospheric Accelerator, which is located in a high-security facility guarded by enemy forces. During this mission, you’ll uncover vital data labeled as intel hd05g circuit details, a necessary component for understanding the advanced mechanisms behind future speeder upgrades. Once you return the Accelerator and incorporate the newfound intel into Selo’s workbench, your speeder’s enhanced capabilities will open new possibilities for exploration and daring escapes.
EXPERT INTEL: THE SPEEDER MECHANIC
Boulder Forest, Toshara
“Selo Rovak is one of the best mechanics on Toshara. She’s agreed to boost Kay’s speeder in exchange for an atmospheric accelerator from the nearby Imperial wind harvester.”
Key Quest Steps:
1 – Break into the Wind Facility
-> Make the turbine stop to get inside.
2 – Find an Atmospheric Accelerator
-> Look for yellow marked climbing spots!
1. Break into the Wind Facility
Make sure to set the Main Quest “The Mechanic” active and follow the quest marker on your HUD to the Imperial Wind Harvester in the “Boulder Forest” region.
Upon Kay’s arrival, the reason for Selo providing her with a pair of Magnetic Disruptors becomes evident. A sizable turbine positioned alongside the mountain wall obstructs entry. Apply the magnetic disruptors not directly to the turbine but to the small control station at its base. This action will decelerate the turbine, allowing for entry with Kay.
2. Find an Atmospheric Accelerator
The Imperial Wind Harvester facility has a large underground tunnel area. Call your speeder for quick transportation to the next quest marker deep within.
Follow the tunnel path. When you reach a cliff, safely descend while seated on the speeder. At the end of the tunnel, you’ll find a big Imperial entrance gate leading to a windy area.
Inside, you’ll find a vent entrance protected by a red power shield. Use Nix to scan the area and reveal a power switch hidden behind the shield. Deactivate the power with Nix to lower the shield, open the vent, and move forward through the facility.
Inside the vent, follow the path and climb up a ladder. Exit on the other side to a dark area with pipes. Follow the pipe structure to the left from where you emerged. Your aim is to reach the brighter far end of this pipe. Ascend to the upper part of the pipe. Two propellers are blowing on the right side. Wait for them to power down before crossing to the far end of the pipe catwalk to a bridge.
Go to the bridge and use Nix to scan the area. Look below for your next target – a power core for a propeller. You can shoot it from this spot. It’s one of three yellow propeller covers required for climbing. Kay can’t climb if the propeller is on.
Go down from the bridge and use the tree propeller covers to climb up to the next bridge. Follow the yellow marked climbing spots.
Cross the bridge and search for climbing spots here. You can also use Nix to locate them. Climb a small handlebar up to the barred windows. Follow the yellow marked climbing spots. Some turbines with yellow covers will power off and on. Wait for the right moment to cross.
From the propeller in the screenshot, descend to a small platform linked to another platform by a pipe with a cracked opening at the top. Enter the pipe through this opening.
Inside the pipe, follow the path to another crack in the floor. Drop down and enter a red-lit ventilation shaft. Go left and squeeze through a tight gap to reach the other side. This area resembles the inside of a gaming PC with brightly lit ventilators. Proceed to the right. Wait for the walls to retract before crossing. Once on the other side, climb up to another round vent opening.
The round opening leads to a small room with valuables. Across the room, beyond the large, bright propeller, are two power cores you must shoot to stop the upper vent from blowing. Use the overhead grapple point to swing to the other side.
Move left and climb onto the propeller with the yellow cover. Continue upwards – you’ll see the yellow grated walls shown in the screenshot below.
Follow the yellow climbing spots to the top, then head left. Drop down onto a path blocked by retractable walls. When they move, cross over and climb the yellow grated wall at the end. This leads to a “crossover climb” onto a platform near the top of the retractable walls. Wait for them to come out to cross over to the other side.
Move right and climb up. Avoid the turbines by waiting for them to power down. Follow the climbing path to the top and reach another vent. Cross it, climb up a ladder inside, and pass through the final stretch of vent. Drop down into the control room of the Imperial Wind Harvester. Remove the Atmospheric Accelerator by interacting with the command center’s console.
3. Leave the Facility
After removing the Atmospheric Accelerator and powering down the Imperial Wind Harvester, the path ahead is clearer. Leave the Command Center through the single door, follow the route, and watch for grappling-swing points above. You’ll find two near the well-lit stationary propeller. Simply descend after swinging to proceed.
Follow the path of the big, brightly lit propeller to find Kay’s speeder waiting. Hop on and drive through the ventilator shaft. After leaving the facility, head back to Selo’s Shop to upgrade your speeder and unlock Selo as an Expert in the “Abilities” section of the game menu.
