About The Aeronautical Engineer
Administrator: The Aeronautical Engineer

Since the Death Stranding, there has not been a field of research more passionately pursued, and more quickly abandoned, as Aeronautical Engineering.
Chiral clouds have made both manned and unmanned flight impossible, preventing any observation of the way the planet has changed following the Death Stranding. Several experiments have been conducted using aircraft and rockets in an attempt to bypass the chiral clouds, but despite humanity’s best efforts, all have ended in failure. Most scientists have given up on the idea of ever again looking down on the world, resigning themselves to merely look up.
But the Aeronautical Engineer never gave up on his dreams. He resolved to climb higher and higher, until he could see the world from above. Before he knew it, he had reached the highest mountain in Australia.
His research into cutting-edge flight technology continues unabated, and he refuses to give up on the idea that we will one day travel great distances not through the tar beneath our feet, but the skies above our heads.
Rewards: The Aeronautical Engineer
Each Knot City and Shelter has a five-star reward system, granting rewards and upgrades with every star reached. Gain more reputation by delivering goods. APAS firmware upgrades, bandwidth increases, and Material Allotment increases are granted with every star reward. Shelters additionally offer Sam a place to rest at the 5-Star level.
Porter-to-Porter Advice
Struggling to find enough cargo to boost Sam’s reputation with The Aeronautical Engineer? There’s a simple solution. Open the Ring Terminal menu and head to the “Orders” section. From there, navigate to the “Search” tab and select The Aeronautical Engineer under “Delivery/Report Destination.” Confirm your search, and you’ll receive a list of available Order Locations for The Aeronautical Engineer. It’s a quick and convenient way to make a Porter’s job a whole lot easier.
1-Star Reward
1 – Tell the Truth by Grimm Grimm – Music

2 – Floating Sentry Gun

A machine gun that transforms from its cargo state once thrown, hovering in midair and automatically attacking enemy targets that come into range. While its MP bullet loadout makes it a reliable tool for knocking out human enemies and destroying mechs, the sentry is not capable of detecting BTs, and will not fire upon them.
Once deployed, the sentry is configured to hover in place, allowing it to be used as a decoy, or simply to provide supporting fire from an angle Sam cannot cover from his position.
The floating sentry gun is retrofitted from a ghost mech weapon, which the Aeronautical Engineer has customised to not kill humans.
3 – Cargo Catapults Improved – Firmware Update

A ballistic structure capable of safely launching cargo over long distances. It can be built anywhere within the chiral network using a PCC Lv2.
The cargo is launched in pods, which are connected to parachutes that must be opened before landing to prevent damage. Each pod can be controlled remotely once its parachute has been opened, allowing you to adjust its landing location and launch any thrown weapons stored within. Thrown weapons are launched one container at a time and scatter over a wide area.
Upgraded cargo catapults are more resistant to timefall and natural disasters.
2-Star Reward
Blood Boomerang Lv2

A foldable boomerang is effective against BTs. It was designed specifically for Sam and is stored in a dedicated holster attached to his suit, allowing it to be carried without taking up space as cargo.
The boomerang’s blade is designed to be filled with Sam’s blood – the more blood loaded into the boomerang, the more damage it will inflict on BTs.
If you approach a gazer undetected, you can use the blood boomerang to sever their umbilical cord and send them back to the world of the dead.
The blood boomerang will also inflict non-lethal damage on human targets. It flies in a special trajectory and will always return to Sam. It can never be lost.
Be wary that the boomerang cannot be thrown if Sam’s blood levels are too low.
3-Star Reward
Goggles

Special goggles designed for mountaineers. They were a sign of gratitude from the Aeronautical Engineer. Fitted with special lenses that block direct and reflected sunlight.
4-Star Reward
Jump Ramps Improved – Firmware Update

A structure that propels you forward—and ensures your safe landing. It can be built anywhere within the chiral network using a PCC Lv2.
Use “Triangle” and “Square” to adjust the angle of the ramp during construction.
Upon passing over a jump ramp, pedestrians and vehicles will be imbued with extra buoyancy using chiral particles, allowing them to travel further through the air while neutralising the impact of their landings. Be aware that all buoyancy effects will be lost if you hit an obstacle midair, after which you will immediately start to fall.
Performing a jump near a jump ramp’s gate allows you to jump more energetically than usual. Watch for the command prompt to perform Extreme Skills and extend the distance of your jump even further.
Upgraded jump ramps are more resistant to timefall and natural disasters. When on foot, the added buoyancy they provide allows for more precise posture control when doing Extreme Skills, letting you perform more before hitting the ground.
5-Star Rewards
1 – Custom Hologram: The Aeronautical Engineer

A Hologram of The Aeronautical Engineer can now be selected under any Structure Customisation.
2 – Patch 62: Cargo Catapult

A 1×1 backpack patch that allows the wearer to express their individuality. Serves as proof that you have reached the maximum connection level with the Aeronautical Engineer.
