Rise of the Ronin Hiranuma-Shinden Map
The in-game map with all 12 Hiranuma-Shinden collectibles marked. Click the map to open it in full size.
All collectibles show up on your map once you reach Area Bond Level 3 in Hiranuma-Shinden. You raise the Area Bond by restoring Public Order, raising Veiled Edge Banners and finding collectibles. Nothing in Hiranuma-Shinden is missable, so you can also come back after the story.
Hiranuma-Shinden Veiled Edge Banners
Veiled Edge Banners are save and fast travel points. Hiranuma-Shinden has two, and one only unlocks after the Public Order.
1. Firearm Training Veiled Edge Banner
Location: At the Firearm Training shooting range in the north
The first banner stands right at the shooting range in the north of the region. While you are there, you can also do the Firearm Training.
2. Western Village Veiled Edge Banner
Location: Occupied village in the southwest
This banner is blocked until you restore the Western Village Public Order. Once all enemies are defeated, the banner is created and set to active automatically.
Hiranuma-Shinden Public Order
Public Order events are areas occupied by enemies. Defeat all of them to restore order, raise your Area Bond and unlock the Veiled Edge Banner in the village.
Location: Occupied village in the southwest of Hiranuma-Shinden
The only Public Order in Hiranuma-Shinden has 6 enemies, 2 of them Formidable Foes. Four stand in the center of the village and the other two by the river. Defeat them all to activate the Western Village Veiled Edge Banner.
Hiranuma-Shinden Fugitives – Kichijiro and Hundred Faces Ryuzo
Fugitives are bounty targets you have to find and defeat. You need 50 of the 91 Fugitives in the game for the Keeper of the Peace trophy.
1. Vengeful Vassal Kichijiro – Lv.9
Location: By the road in the center of Hiranuma-Shinden
Kichijiro just stands by the road in the center of the region, waiting for someone to rob. Sneak up for a first strike and defeat him.
2. Hundred Faces Ryuzo – Lv.10
Location: Southern corner of the estate grounds in the east, at the Noge border
Hundred Faces Ryuzo is at the large estate in the east of the map, right on the border to Noge. You find him in the southern corner of the estate grounds. The Eastern Estate Treasure Chest is on the same estate.
Kanagawa Commissioner’s Office Landmark
Kanagawa Commissioner’s Office
Location: Southeastern corner of Hiranuma-Shinden
Landmarks are important places you only have to visit. Hiranuma-Shinden has just one, the Kanagawa Commissioner’s Office. It is also the site of one of the Bond missions, so you may already have it. While you are there, pet the cat inside the grounds.
How to Get to the Hiranuma-Shinden Shrine
Location: Top of the island just west of the fishing village
The Shrine sits on top of an island west of the fishing village. To reach it, you need a couple of grapples in a row while still in the air. Walk to the end of the village jetty and look for the first grapple point, as shown in the screenshot below, then keep grappling until you land at the Shrine.
Hiranuma-Shinden Cat Locations
Cats are real cats you need to pet, not statues. Listen for meowing, which means one is close. Calico cats run off if you are noisy, so sneak up on them. You need all 100 cats in the game for the Cats Over All trophy, and you can trade them for rewards at the cat vendor in Yokohama.
1. Kanagawa Commissioner’s Office Cat
Location: Inside the Kanagawa Commissioner’s Office in the southeast
This cat is inside the grounds of the Kanagawa Commissioner’s Office Landmark. Climb the outer wall of the landmark to spot it more easily, as shown in the screenshot.
2. Western Village Cat
Location: Below a big old tree in the western village
In the western village, where the Public Order takes place, follow the path to its end. The cat sits right below a big, old tree.
Hiranuma-Shinden Treasure Chest Locations
Treasure Chests are big chests, sometimes hidden inside buildings. Hiranuma-Shinden has two.
1. Eastern Estate Treasure Chest
Location: White storehouse on the estate in the east
This chest is inside the white storehouse on the eastern estate, where you also find Hundred Faces Ryuzo. Climb the outer wall of the estate up to the open window at the highest point. Once inside, drop down to the ground floor. The chest is close to the exit door.
2. Western Village Treasure Chest
Location: Inside a house near the Western Village Veiled Edge Banner
The second chest is in the western village, where the Public Order takes place. Look inside the houses near the Veiled Edge Banner to find it.
Hiranuma-Shinden Firearm Training
Location: Shooting range at the Firearm Training Veiled Edge Banner in the north
Firearm Training is a shooting challenge where you hit targets with your rifle, and it counts toward the 12 collectibles. The Hiranuma-Shinden range has a low difficulty of 2 out of 5. There is another one in Yoshida-Shinden.
For the top score you need 8200+ points. Line up targets to earn Multiple Target Bonuses. Use the turret in the center of the range to shoot off the straw balls first, then use it again to hit several metal targets at once.
