#1 – News

After defeating the Crowcaller at the end of Chapter 5, return to Howling Hill to start Chapter 6: Cracks in the Shield.

Description:
“With the incidents involving the White Crow resolved, long-held tension has finally given way to fatigue. Head back to Howling Hill to get some well-earned rest with your comrades.”

Return to Howling Hill

Yann is by the main tent, surrounded by kids. A Hernadian Guard reports that a comrade is in Calphade.

Meet Marquis Serkis

Go to Hernand Castle. Marquis Serkis is in the upstairs Audience Hall. You will then meet Charles Celeste.

#2 – To the Battlefield

Open your inventory and read Celeste’s Confidential Letter.

The letter reads:
Marshal Middler,
First, I wish to commend your unwavering dedication to your duties in the field of battle.
As you may be aware, the forces of Demeniss have entered our territory under the guise of offering aid. In truth, they sow discord within Hernand, and I have reason to believe their true intent is to bring us under their dominion. For the time being, exercise the utmost caution.
Though the gate remains in a most perilous state, you are to hold your ground to the last. Ensure the safe evacuation of our people and exhaust every means at your disposal to halt the southern advance of the Black Bears. Should the Greymanes join the front lines, you are to lend them your full support without hesitation.
Remember, the safety of our lands rests upon your devotion and your courage. May the blessing of Solumen guard your path.

Meet and follow the Guide at the Beacon

Talk to the Hernandian Guard at the northwestern Torchlight Beacon.

Investigate the Scene of the Attack

Follow him on horseback. He will stop at the roadside near Hauted Hill because he had discovered slayed Hernandian soldiers. Soon, bandits attack. Make sure to stay close to your guide so he survives!

Speak with Marshal Middler

Marshal Middler is standing by the Calphade Gate, awaiting your arrival.

#3 – The Counterattack

Description:
“Head to the Southern Sentry Post where your allies are gathered before entering Calphade Castle.”

Go to the Battlefield

Follow the northern road until you arrive at the Southern Sentry Post. You will probably notice crossing an orange glowing border. That’s the border of the battlefield. The battlefield area is also highlighted on the in-game map.

A scout is awaiting you, and you can follow him.

He will lead you to a dropped banner and a banner slot. Both of them are highlighted on the minimap. Pick up the banner with Nature’s Grasp and put it inside the Banner Slot. Use your lantern while carrying the banner to see a “Plant” prompt by the slot. This Banner Tutorial will end the Blazing Beacon questline, and Below the Banners follows.
