This walkthrough covers the Black and White questline in Crimson Desert, a six-part main story questline that picks up after the Uninvited Guest and ends with the Chapter 5 boss fight. It takes you from the Witchwoods to the Axiom Archive, through Hernand and Demeniss, and finally up to a sky-high nest to take on the Crowcaller. Here’s how to get through all six quests step by step.

#1 – The Missing Seal
After the Uninvited Guest questline, the seal on the White Crow’s letter finally breaks. Read it in your inventory, then head to the Witchwoods near Perwin Quarry to find the Witch of Wisdom. Dodge the spike traps, enter the house, free Tanya, and then locate Elowen nearby to unlock her faction quest and complete this chapter.

Read the unsealed letter in your inventory. It has a purple background.
The Letter Reads:
“Greymane,
One deemed unauthorized has recently crossed to the Abyss. This is a sign that the boundary between Pywel and the Abyss is slowly crumbling.
What lies at the end… no one can predict.
Across the continent, there are other witches who have safeguarded the balance for countless years. Seek them out and lend them your strength.
Continue your acts of goodwill and gain the wisdom needed to
face the end.
White Crow
PS. I have left a small gift to aid you on your journey. The other witches should be able to use it to craft special items.”
Go Meet the Witch
This is not the same as from The Hermit Witch. This witch lives at the Witchwoods, near the Perwin Quarry. It’s the Witch of Wisdom. Meeting her is also unlocking the Faction Quest Hernand -> Witches -> The Witch of Wisdom.
The Witch of Wisdom
Examine the house at this location. When you approach, metal spikes will rise from the ground. Dodge the spikes and enter the house. Either open it with a key or climb inside through the roof. Untie Tanya inside the house.
After you’ve untied Tanya, she will disappear. This was just a text after all. Next, you will meet Elowen the Witch. She’s living not far from Tanya’s house. There is also a fast-travel platform to unlock. Enter the house. There is a honey tea recipe and a cauldron here. When you talk to her, ask her about her request, which starts the “The Witch of Wisdom” faction quest.
This will complete the Quest “The Missing Seal.”
#2 – Crowcaller
Head back to Hernand Castle and speak with a soldier in the courtyard about ghostly intruders. Track them through the castle up to the Alchemist Chamber, then make your way to the Axiom Archive. Fight off the Crow Brothers at the entrance – Alustin has been attacked, and the White Crow has been taken.

“The witch’s warning of looming dark forces leaves you with an ominous sense of foreboding. Quickly return to Hernand to gather information and prepare.”
Head to Hernand & Speak with the Soldier
Return to the Hernand Castle courtyard and speak with the soldier. They will tell you about intruders behaving like ghosts in the keep. They were searching for something, then vanished.
Track the Invader
Enter the castle, head upstairs, and into the same room where you’ve entered the Abyss for the first time: The Alchemist Chamber. If you haven’t done so, you can look at Alustin’s memory here: The Alchemist’s Chamber.
Go to the Axiom Archive
Enter the gate to reach the Axiom Archive. Just go straight ahead to the building after your arrival. At the entrance steps, the Crow Brothers will attack. Fight them off to continue to enter the archive.
Alustin was attacked. He will tell you that the White Crow had been taken, and she has to be found quickly.
#3 – The Crow’s Warning
Search Hernand for a house surrounded by crows. As you approach, the feathered Crowcaller will appear on the roof. Fight off his minions until Alustin contacts you with news that the White Crow is being taken to Demeniss.
Gather Clues on the “Crow” in Hernand
Return to Hernand. Look for a house with crows sitting around it. As you approach, the Crowcaller, a feathered man, will spawn on the house’s roof. Fight his minions until Alustin contacts you, reporting that the White Crow has been taken to Demeniss.

“The attack on the Amiom Archive seems recent. The culprits must be caught before the trail grows cold. Scour every corner of Hernand.
#4 – Bloodwind
Chase the Crowcaller northeast to the Demeniss Orphanage, east of the trading post. Fight through his minions until he appears, then battle him until he escapes. The trail leads deeper into Demeniss.
Chase after the Feathered Man
Return to Hernand. Look for a house with crows sitting around it. As you approach, the Crowcaller will spawn on the house’s roof. Fight his minions until Alustin contacts you, reporting that the White Crow has been taken to Demeniss.
They took her not far from the Demeniss Trading Post in the Questline Golden News From Yann. It’s east of there at the Demeniss Orphanage. Head to the quest marker to find the Crocaller’s minions. Fight them for him to appear, then fight him until he escapes.

“According to Alustin’s message, White Crow is bound for Demeniss. Set out after the feathered man before the trail grows cold.”
#5 – Secret at the Church
Talk to Abbess Marina at the orphanage to learn about Heaven’s Gate. Use her key to access the church cellar, solve the 3×3 button puzzle to retrieve the Dagger of Radiance, then use it at the Pillar of Radiance and solve the rotating disk puzzle to form an eye shape and activate it.
Gather Information at the Orphanage
Head to the center of the Orphanage, where you will encounter a person sitting on the floor. There is a house between two other houses. When you approach it, you will see an orange dot on the minimap, and you will hear someone talking.
Knock on the door, and a nun will attack from the inside: Abess Marina. She will tell you about Heaven’s Gate, a sanctuary they have been watching over for centuries. She will give you a key to the cellar to reach the relic to open Heaven’s gate.

Obtain the Church’s Relic
The church is close by, south of the orphanage. Cross the cemetery to get there.
The cellar access is outside, next to the church at the small brick house. Open the door with the key she gave you and descend to a small room with a puzzle. There is also a Palmar Pill here.
The Strongbox is protected by a puzzle plate with 3×3 buttons. All of them have to glow for the strongbox to open. It’s the same puzzle as in Chapter 4, where you had to open the Gate to the Otherworld at the Scholastone Institute.
Press the buttons until you get a T-shape as shown in the screenshot. Pushing the highlighted button will solve the puzzle. Open the strongbox and take the small box. Inside is the Dagger of Radiance – A key item.
Activate the Pillar of Radiance
The Dagger of Radiance is the key to the Pillar of Radiance. Exit the basement and return to the place where the Crowcaller disappeared.
Use the lantern at the center of the pillar. You will get an option to “plant” the dagger there to raise the pillar to reveal a disk you can interact with. Another Puzzle. This time, you have to turn two disks (only two are selectable and movable) to form a picture of an eye.
#6 – Toward the Nest
Make your way north to the Spire of Soaring, solve the power puzzles inside to ride the platform to the top, then repair the three power nodes on the Skybridge and activate it. Cross using the turbines to reach the final island and face the Crowcaller in a three-phase boss fight to end Chapter 5.
Go to the Spire of Soaring
The Spire of Soaring is north of your current location. It’s the high, slim tower.

“The Spire of Soaring has been activated. It is time for the final showdown. Go to the tower and head to where the enemy awaits.”
Activate the Spire of Soaring
Enter through the big round window above the broken entrance. Glide down to the blue glowing platform.
Follow where the blue energy goes. It flows from the platform to the wall with rotatable circles. Like you’ve encountered them before. Turn them with Axiom Force to direct the power to the right side of the overhead cube.
This will power the platform, and it will rise one level. Here is a circle with a smaller blue circle in the center. Shine your lantern, and you will see which lines of this circle need to be powered. Turn the circle so all three lines get power.
The now powered platform will rise to the top of the Spire.
Activate the Skybridge
The top of the Spire unfolds, and the platform moves westward, up into the sky. After your arrival, just step onto the fast-travel platform to activate the Skybridge.
Climb up to the big, yellow glowing globe. Use Axiom Force on it to power it up. You will see that this beam has a blue, intact connection. This is good. There are two more beams in the area that have a severed connection and need to be repaired, looking the same as this.
Cancel the connection and look up. There is a broken connection to the left and to the right.
Climb to the top, where you can reach the two globes and repair the connection by steering the beam to the yellow globe on the other side until they turn blue.
Cross over and climb to the top, where you can see the round power core. Scan the power cables. Blue is good, yellow is bad. There is a bad connection somewhere, where you have to put the conduits back together the same way as you had to do it at the Kiln Repair at the Kilnden Workshop.
There are three power lines leading to the monument on the other side. Use your lantern to see which one you’re missing. In my case, you can see that one of them shows no life at all. I followed it to find another broken conduit to repair.
Powering up and repairing all three cables will activate the big, round power core. Return to it, hang onto it, and use Force Palm on the center to power it up.
You have now repaired the Crescent Skybridge, and an Abyss Artifact is rewarded. Go through the triangle and use Axiom Force on the small pillar. Turn it until it glows blue to activate the skybridge.
Go to the Final Battleground
You can now cross the skybridge. Notice how the turbines on the other side are now active. They have to be used while flying to reach the final battleground. On the island with the tree, step onto the teleporter to face the boss fight.
Toward the Nest
Defeat Crowcaller at the nest. Make sure to also activate the fast-travel platform. Crowcaller has three health bars with two cutscenes in between. Defeating him will end Chapter 5.
