Crimson Desert: A Move on the Table Quest Walkthrough

The A Move on the Table quest in Crimson Desert continues the Scattered Embers storyline, directly following Shattered Charmed Life. In this quest, you’ll infiltrate the gambling den in Hernand town, learn how the Duo card game works, and win multiple matches to progress the story.

This guide provides a complete walkthrough of A Move on the Table, including where to find the gambling den, how to talk to the guide, and tips to win all three Duo matches efficiently. Whether you’re struggling with the mechanics of Duo or just want to complete the quest quickly, this step-by-step guide will help you move on to Liquor and Memories without losing too much silver.

This is the second quest of the Greymane Faction questline Scattered Embers: Chance to Make a Fortune.

1 – Shattered Charmed Life
-> 2 – A Move on the Table <-
3 – Liquor and Memories

Completing these three quests will unlock the “The First Steps of Little Marksmen” questline.

After talking to Yann at the Howling Hill, where he tells you that he had lost a fortune at the gambling table in the tavern, you ride with him to Hernand town in Shattered Charmed Life.

Quest description:
“Enter the gambling den as Yann suggested and observe the game. Keep a sharp eye out for any suspicious movements.”

The gambling den is upstairs at the Hernand town tavern. There is a man with a blue coat sitting in the corridor. Talk to him, and he will guide you to the gambling den’s door.

Now you have to play Duo on the table and win three times. I decided to save the game here since Duo, with a 15 silver starting cost, is quite expensive. Winning 3 times will complete this Duo tutorial quest, and the questline continues with “Liquor and Memories”.

So what is Duo:
“Duo is a game where players compete for the pot based on the combinations of their hands. At the start of the game, each player is dealt 2 cards.
After checking your hand, you can either place a bet or fold; the player with the highest-ranking hand wins.
Predict your opponent’s hand and raise the bet at the right time to claim your victory.”

Duo Guide:
Play Duo with 20 cards numbered 1 to 10.
Combine 2 cards to form a high-ranked set and win the round.
Each number has a Yellow and Red card; Red cards are key to forming powerful sets and creating tactical variables.
Read your opponent’s mind and strike their weaknesses with strategy.
Pay the base ante while seated to start Duo.

Receive 2 cards to choose an action after checking your cards:
-> Check: Pass the turn without raising the pot.
-> All in: Bet all your currently held silver.
-> Half Raise: Bet half of the total current pot.
-> Double Raise: Bet double the amount raised by the previous player.
-> Call: Match the amount raised by the previous player.
-> Fold: Forfeit the current round.

Call is automatic if the 10-second time limit is exceeded. The cards are revealed when the pot can no longer be raised or when all players match the current bet. You can’t keep playing if your silver falls below the base ante.

Cheating:
Watch the player dealing the cards closely. Sometimes they cheat, and you need to call them out. If you’re right, the cheater’s money will be shared with the other players. If you’re wrong, you’re kicked off the table and lose your money.
