Borderlands 3 is a loot-focused first-person shooter that combines fast-paced action with character-driven customization. Players can embark on their adventure solo or in co-op parties of up to four, choosing from one of four unique character classes. The game revolves around completing missions assigned by non-playable characters (NPCs) or found on bounty boards, earning experience, in-game currency, and valuable loot along the way. Additional rewards can also be obtained by defeating enemies scattered throughout the world.
As players level up, they earn skill points that can be invested in a detailed skill tree, allowing for personalized character builds. Borderlands 3 introduces four all-new playable characters: Amara, a powerful “Siren” who wields mystical fists; Moze, a resourceful “Gunner” who pilots the Iron Bear mecha; Zane, a tech-savvy “Operative” equipped with versatile gadgets; and FL4K, a robotic “Beastmaster” who commands loyal creatures to assist in battle. Together, these dynamic characters bring fresh gameplay experiences to the Borderlands universe.
In contrast to earlier Borderlands games, where each character had a single unique skill tied to a cooldown, the new installment introduces a significant upgrade. Each character can now unlock three unique skills, though only one can be equipped at a time, except for Zane, who can equip two. This change vastly enhances the variety of potential character builds, offering players greater flexibility and customization.
