Blades of Fire: How to Forge the Aureus Spear

Quest Start

After having faced Thalmudak in the Citadel, Aran returns to the Camp at Watchtower Domain. Adso and Arwen come up with the idea to forge the Aureus Spear to defeat the Titan. To forge it, Aran has to find three items: The Aureus Steel Ingot, the Aureus Spear Scroll 1 and the Aureus Spear Scroll 2.

Aureus Steel Ingot

Once you return to The Roggs Mountains, you will get a grilled chicken marker on the Hud, which does not show on the map.

Travel to the Dhyrias Forge anvil, where you can find the source of the smell right at the bottom.

Koko, the Ogre has a barbeque and the Aureus Steel Ingot is hanging off his neck. At some stage, he will flee, taking the zipline towards the Lava Temple. Note: You can rest without resetting the fight. After the second fight, Koko will escape again, using the zipline towards the north, Koko’s Hollow. Enter Koko’s Hollow and fight Koko one last time. When he blacks out, make sure you start a heavy attack towards the pit in the middle. He will fall into this pit full of Morlocks, and the fight is over.

Climb down and pick up the Aureus Steel Ingot.

Aureus Spear Scroll 1

For the first part of the Aureus Spear Scroll, return to the Egion’s Abbey in Tok’s Kingdom. In the courtyard, where the gazebo with the templars is, you can now climb down an open grave.

Climb down the ladder to find the Catacombs anvil on your right. Follow the corridor, where you’ll come across two barricaded passages that can be broken with a melee attack. One is immediately to the right after the anvil, and the other is straight ahead. You can choose either path.

Once in the Catacombs, look for a lever on the top layer and pull it. This will open the gate below, leading to a room with two Sentenzas. Defeat them to proceed.
Tip: For me, long spears work best for defeating Sentenzas.

After defeating the Sentenzas, the gate in the room will unlock. Proceed along the path and climb the ladder at its end. In the abbey garden, Aran will take a moment to reflect on his past. Once this poignant scene concludes, exit the garden through the southwest gate. A cutscene will then reveal the abbot placing the scroll on the altar, ready for Aran to retrieve.

The abbey’s main gate is now open and you can leave.

Aureus Spear Scroll 2

Visit Glinda at Kar-Lethel Swamp. Look for her marker on the map. She can be found at various places in the swamp. I found her at the Angel’s Cliff Anvil. She will give Aran the Aureus Spear Scroll 2.

Forge the Aureus Spear

Go back to the Forge to craft the Aureus Spear. It will be the only option you have, and it will start automatically as soon as you interact with the crafting table. You have to forge a maximum of 3 stars to complete it. You can’t craft anything else. The only option is to return to the camp.

Fighting the Titan

The only thing you need to do while fighting the Titan, is shoot at its body armor with X (on PS5). This will reveal yellow weak points. Shoot them again to defeat the Titan.
