“Father Bianchi has lost his cat. Better keep an eye out for this spectacular black satin-haired wonder of nature.”
Curious meows will soon catch your ear as you explore the Vatican, and your task is to locate, photograph, and document all the cats in the area. While the black satin-haired cat is the star, be prepared to discover other feline friends hiding throughout the map.

- Collect the flyer on the east side of the map to start the quest.
- Locate and photograph the cats listed below to complete the mystery.
- Pro Tip: Bring your camera at all times—these charming cats have a knack for hiding in plain sight!
Reward
Successfully pinning the black cat’s photograph to the board will complete the quest and reward you with 100 Adventure Points.
Cat Locations – Comprehensive Guide
Here’s every feline you’ll need to find for the A Free Spirit Mystery, organized alphabetically for convenience. Get ready for a fun treasure hunt across the Vatican!
Black & White Cat
Speak to Valeria in the Vatican Pharmacy. If you’ve completed the A Remedy for All Fieldwork Quest, you’ve likely encountered her. After the cutscene, you’ll find the Black & White Cat lounging in the center of the Pharmacy courtyard.

Brown Cat
Head to the small park east of Belvedere Courtyard. Climb up the scaffolding there to find the Brown Cat resting peacefully.

Orange Cat
Head north of the Apostolic Palace, then walk east of Belvedere Courtyard. Look for a shed at a dead-end alley. The Orange Cat can be found prowling atop the rooftop.

Signor Smushki (The Black-Satin-Haired Cat)
This is the centerpiece of the quest. You’ll spot the Black Satin-Haired Cat on the rooftops above the gate leading to the Belvedere Courtyard. Father Bianchi would be thrilled to know you’ve found this spectacular creature.

White Cat
From the Orange Cat’s location, climb higher onto the roof. There, perched on a chimney, sits the pristine White Cat.

How to Complete the Mystery
Once you’ve photographed the Black Cat (Signor Smushki), return to the info board (east side of the map). Attach the photo to Father Bianchi’s flyer to complete the quest. Your reward? 100 Adventure Points and a sense of accomplishment for reuniting a beloved pet with its story.
