1 – How to Get to the Icy Cavern in Mount Pleasant
Location: Mount Pleasant – the far north of the map
Closest Shelter: Bligh Domain
Haunted Grounds are puzzle locations where you have to clear the way before you can open the chest at the very end. The Mount Pleasant one is inside the Icy Cavern. The closest shelter to fast travel to is the Bligh Domain. The red circle on the map below marks the Icy Cavern.
2 – Clear the Creeping Ivy at the Cave Entrance
Location: Mount Pleasant – outside the Icy Cavern
You need: Antea for the heart, Red for the 2 bulbs
As you get close, switch to Antea. She sees strange glowing markings on the walls that point you the right way. A Creeping Ivy blocks the path to the markings, so you have to destroy it first.
Stand where Antea is in the screenshot below. From here, you destroy the heart with Antea and shoot the 2 bulbs with Red: one to the right and one just behind Antea.
With the Creeping Ivy gone, follow the path to where it was and climb down. Look for a gap in the wall with icicles in front of it. Melee attack the icicles to break them and enter the Icy Cavern.
3 – Drop the First Big Icicle with Outburst
Location: Icy Cavern – the higher path
You need: Antea’s Outburst
The Icy Cavern is full of Creeping Ivy puzzles that you have to solve before you can reach the treasure. Take a look around the cave first. On the higher path, stand close to the big glowing icicle and use Antea’s Outburst to drop it to the floor.
The fallen icicle now works as a bridge to the higher ground. Climb up and get familiar with this area. There are two ice walls here that you can break with Outburst.
4 – Destroy the First Creeping Ivy: Heart and 4 Bulbs
Location: Icy Cavern – the higher ground above the icicle bridge
You need: Outburst for the ice wall, Red for the 4 bulbs
Look for the heart of the first Creeping Ivy shown below. This is the Creeping Ivy you clear first.
Before you can destroy this Creeping Ivy, make your way below the heart. Use the narrow wall path just to the right of the screenshot above. Down there, an ice wall blocks one of the bulbs. Break it with Antea’s Outburst so Red can reach the bulb behind it.
Then destroy these 4 bulbs with Red:
The first Creeping Ivy is now cleared. As you climb down, you see a Leap spot for Antea that goes from ground level up to the chest. But the chest is protected by a second Creeping Ivy.
5 – Drop the Second Big Icicle to Reach the Next Heart
Location: Icy Cavern – up from the first heart
You need: Antea’s Outburst
Go back to where the heart of the first Creeping Ivy was. Play as Antea to find the heart of the second Creeping Ivy, then make your way up. Break the next ice wall with Outburst. Behind it is a narrow yellow wall passage, followed by a yellow wall going up.
It looks like a dead end, but Red’s hand starts to glow blue. Switch to Antea and you see another big blue icicle. Use Outburst to drop it.
The dropped icicle opens up a new passage that you see when you look down. Use it to get to the heart of the second Creeping Ivy.
6 – Destroy the Second Creeping Ivy: 4 Bulbs
Location: Icy Cavern – around the dropped icicle
You need: Red for the 4 bulbs, Outburst for the blocked gap
The second Creeping Ivy has 4 bulbs to destroy. Here is where to find each of them:
Bulb 1 – Above the Treasure
The first bulb sits just above the chest.
Bulbs 2 and 3 – From the Dropped Icicle
Go back the way you came and stand on the icicle Antea dropped. One orange bulb is up to the left, the other one is up to the right.
Bulb 4 – Around the Corner Past the Gap Jump
From the icicle, a third root goes down. Follow it as Antea, since the roots glow more clearly for her. It leads to a gap jump path blocked by another icicle. Break it with Outburst to cross. The fourth bulb is just around the corner.
7 – Leap to the Chest: Reward and Raider Trophy
Location: Icy Cavern – ground floor below the chest
You need: Antea’s Leap
Go back down to the ground floor and use Antea’s Leap to get up to the treasure. As soon as you open the chest, the Icy Cavern Haunted Grounds is solved.
Reward – Ring of Antikythera
The chest holds the Ring of Antikythera, a Remarkable Bane Ring.
Raider Trophy
The Icy Cavern is one of the 4 Haunted Grounds in New Eden. Complete all of them to unlock the Raider trophy: Corrupt Canyon in The Dark Woods, the Icy Cavern in Mount Pleasant, and The Shipwreck and Forsaken Farm in The Harrows.
