There are 5 Manuals and Recipes to find in the Ogouchi Buffer Zone in Beast of Reincarnation. Books in the game come in three types – Ancient Books, which can only be sold for Amber, Manuals for crafting Equipment, and Recipes for Kagura’s Cooking. This guide only covers the Manuals and Recipes, since Ancient Books are just sellable loot with no fixed use.

1 – Manual: Recovery Tonic (S)
There is a Rusted Golem north of Subcity 03, the entrance to the Nushi’s Lair. Talk to it to receive the manual.
Description:
A manual that contains instructions on how to synthesize the Recovery Tonic (S). Replenishes the Recovery Tonic (S) on rest.
2 – Normal Recipe: Boiled Beans
This book is inside the Lookout Shack in the north of the map.
Description:
A recipe for a dish both salty and sweet. It is simple, but nutritious. This recipe is somewhat lacking, however.
3 – Manual: Fire Arrows
South-west on the map is a settlement with golems. They are guarding a house with this book inside. The door is unlocked.
Description:
A manual that contains instructions on how to synthesize Fire Arrows. Causes the item to replenish on rest.
4 – Normal Recipe: Fried Egg
During the story quest, Emma has to find a yellow key inside a cave north of Tailwater Village. This book is in the same room as the key.
Description:
Eggs are a valuable energy source for those who brave the outside world. This recipe is somewhat lacking, however.
5 – Manual: Acid Bolts
South of Tailwater Village, along the path is another settlement with a Keeper Golem, who will tell you where to find this manual. This information can be given by any Keeper Golem that you talk to. This was the one that gave it to me.
You can also just go to this location and pick it up. It’s in the center-west of the map at the Quarry Interior campsite. Defeat the Elite Golem at the top of the quarry and enter the house to find the manual.
